Health requirements for barber shop First : Submission of Request 1- A person who wants a health certification must apply for it before practicing work. This certification is not granted until inspecting the place and approving that all required health conditions have been observed . 2- The health permission must be renewed annually.

3- The workplace could not be changed or used for another work without obtaining an agreement from the Health Inspection department. 4- The health record placed in the workplace and stamped with the stamp of the health department, and it is considered an official record that must be well-kept and not be tampered. It must be available to the health teams to record their notes when they carry out periodic health inspection.

Second: Construction/Building 1- The space of men's barber shop must not be less than 12 square meters as minimum for only 2 chairs. Adding 6 square meters for each additional barber chair . 2- The space for the women's barber shop must not be less than 16 square meters as a minimum for only two chairs. And adding 8 square meters for each additional barber chair.

3- The workplace must be constructed with blocks, iron, steel, or concrete . 4- Ceilings and walls must be painted by a good and easy clean paint. 5- The sewer network in the place, should be available and connected to the public drain channel directly. 6- The place must be supplied with water source from the water pipe network.

7- The workplace should be provided with enough wash basins with hot and cold water. 8 . The storefront must be made of good material, preferably aluminum, for easy cleaning . 9 . Maintaining the cleanliness of the place, furniture and decorations, and maintaining their quality constantly.

Third: Ventilation and Illumination 1- In the workplace, modern ventilation devices must be available with possible quantity (air discharges) and the size and number determined by the health authorities . 2- Enough artificial lighting in the workplace must be available. 3- Adequate heating and cooling equipment must be available in the workplace.

Fourth: Tools and work supplies 1- Scissors, tools , and other tools used in shaving or cutting must be sterilized with a sterile solution certified by the health authority before and after use . 2- Keep the cutting tools when not in use in the locker with a glass face and keep them clean constantly . 3- Find a sufficient amount of sheets and towels and keep them in the specific locker . 4- The cut hair should not be left on the ground and should be collected and deposited in a special barrel.

Fifth: Powders and Dyes 1 - It is not permissible to apply powder to the customer during shaving except with a piece of cotton, and it is not acceptable to use one piece for more than one person. 2 - Hair dyes must be allowed by health authorities to be used, dyes must be free from substances that cause allergies or dermatitis, and do not contain toxic effects. 3- Rubber gloves should be used by workers when applying hair dye.

Sixth: Workers 1- All workers in the workplace must obtain a medical examination card that proves they are free from communicable and infectious diseases . 2- All workers in the workplace must obtain the graduation certificate of health education session provided to them by the health department . 3- All workers must wear special suits to work while working.

Seventh: Other health requirements Provide a first aid pharmacy with the necessary medical treatment materials . The health authority has the right to impose or add any of the health conditions required to maintain public health
