Earthquakes 3 Lessons Recovery Path Conclusion Vulnerable people and rural areas impact more. But rural areas show more resilience than the city centers. A big part of the population was living in the city centers. Emergency aids and services are generally urban-oriented. Recovering back to normal/ordinary daily life immediately is crucial. If the recovery process stretches, especially the young in rural areas, they tend to leave their home and migrate to the second-best option.

Rural Principles could be updated in the context of emergency services for the rural areas and supporting rural recovery. E mergency situation and rural recovery policies should be merged to the rural principles with in the « rural proofing » perspective .
