Positive symptoms HALLUCINOGENS - It is sensing (seeing,hearing, feeling, smelling and even tasting) things that are real. DELUSIONS - It is a misinterpretation of perceptions or experiences. THOUGHT AND MOVEMENT DISORDER - It is the unusual or dysfunctional ways of thinking, speech,and body movements.
Negative symptoms EMOTIONAL UNRESPONSIVENESS- It shows a “flat effect;” reduced expression of emotions either by facial or body language. AVOLITION - It show lack of motivation or having difficulty to do things. SOCIAL WITHDRAWAL - It shows social isolation; lack of contact with other person.
Cognitive symptoms- are changes in the memory of the person that causes poor thought processes. PREVENTION, COPING, and TREATMENT Persons with schizophrenia need full support and care provided by the family and community.
