Prohibition – Alcohol Barrel
Alcohol was prohibited during the 1920's because it was
believed to have been the main source of family conflict. This
caused people to drink and sell illegal alcohol. In this photo,
men are draining the barrels of alcohol.

Harlem Renaissance - Trumpet
Jazz became huge during the 1920's. Luis Armstrong was a
very famous trumpeter at the time, but people still continue
to listen to his beautiful music. In this photo, is a picture of
Armstrong playing his beloved trumpet.

Fundamentalism - Newspaper
Fundamentalism is the strict way people
uphold their belief's according to
scripture. Because Christian's believe
that God created all things including
humans, they choose not to learn or
believe in the evolution theory.
Therefor, evolution was not to be
taught. John Scopes taught evolution
only to find himself in deep trouble.
Eventually, states began to teach
evolution in their schools. In the photo,
there is an article in a newspaper about
Scope's sentence.

New Roles for Women – Work Clothes
Work clothes were now a common thing among women
in the 1920's. Women began to join the workforce and
attend school to make their own living. In the photo,
