7. Factual description of a Postman THE POSTMAN The postman is a familiar figure to everyone. He swiftly goes from door to door by cycle or on foot to deliver the letters, parcels etc. He is very active, dressed in Khaki and usually seen carrying a bag on his shoulder. In villages, the postman is a much sought-after person as he helps the illiterates by reading their letters for them. He is a co-operative person who is honest in this dealing. He is usually calm and reserved. He delivers the mail irrespective of the weather conditions. He gets a meager salary. A postman may find it difficult to make both ends meet. The government must take steps to better the lots of the Indian postman. He enjoys the sympathy of one and all.   .
