2. What is a 7-segment Display? A seven-segment display(SSD) OR seven- segment indicator, is a form of electronic display device of displaying decimal numerals that is an alternative to the more complex dot matrix displays. Seven-segment display are widely used in digital clock, electronic meters, basic calculator , and other electronic device display numerical information.

3. Types of 7-segmet display : 1. Common cathode (CC): the common cathode display, connection of the LED segments are joined together to logic “o” or ground . The individual segment are illuminated by application of a “high” ,or logic “1” signal via a current limiting resistor to forward bias the individual anode terminals (a-g).

4. 2. Common Anode(CA): in the common anode display ,all the anode connection of the LED segment are joined together to logic “1”.the individual segment are illuminated by applying a ground logic “ o”or “LOW” signal via a suitable common limiting resistor to cathode of the particular segment (a-g)
