1. Commissioning tools

MINI-LINK 6352 has a O&M LAN port RJ-45 interface for local management on site via a laptop.
A command line interface, CLI, is the default tool for management of MINI-LINK 6352 . All management
operations can be done via the CLI.

•MINI-LINK Node GUI can be configured in the web browser used for accessing MINI-LINK Node GUI.
The IP address of the local management interface is 192.168.1.1. The connected computer must be configured
manually with IPv4 address 192.168.1.2.

2. Node GUI Overview

The Node GUI (Graphical User Interface) is an interactive web
interface that can be used to change a limited set of parameters
in the packet radio without having to use CLI commands.
Note: The Node GUI license is required for full functionality.

3. GUI LOGON window

If this is the first login, the password needs to be changed. In this case, the Change Passwordpage is opened.
To access the Node GUI, the Node GUI license must be installed. If there is no license for the Node GUI, the
only page that can be accessed is the Status Overview .
The MINI-LINK Node GUI logon window contains the following input fields:
Username: Type the username. The default username is admin
Password: Type the password for the user. The default password is admin
Sign in :Button for accessing the MINI-LINK Node GUI desktop.

4. Change password

If this is the first login, the password needs to be changed. In this case, the Change Passwordpage is opened.
This page is used to change the password of any user that is already defined for the system. Click on the Change
Password button in the top menu of the Node GUI to open the Change Password page.
Username–Type in the username. The default username is admin.
Current Password –Type the current password for the associated username. The default password is admin.
New Password –Type the new password.
Passwords must conform to the following rules:
•Must be 8 to 34 characters long.
•Must not consist of repetitions or the reverse of the associated username.
•Must not contain more than three instances of the same character in a row.
•Must include at least one character from at least three of the following character groups:
1.Lower case alpha character (a-z)
2.Upper case alpha character (A-Z)
3.Numeric character (0-9)
4.Special character
Confirm New Password –Type the new password again to verify that it is correct.
Save–Click to change the password.
Cancel–Click to cancel password change.

5. License Unlock period

Unlock periods can be triggered using the Node GUI. To trigger an unlock period using the Node GUI:
Steps
•Log on to the Node GUI. The Status page opens.
•Click System, then License in the menu to the left.
•Click License Unlock. The License Unlock page opens.
•Select only Integrationtokenfrom the following unlock periods:
oIntegration
oEmergency
oMaintenance
•Type the user-nameand password.
•Click Unlockto start the selected unlock period.

6. Software upgrading

To upgrade or downgrade the packet radio using the Node GUI:
Attention!
Upgrading or downgrading software can lead to traffic loss for several minutes
because the NE automatically restarts when the software is activated.
Steps
•Log on to the Node GUI. The Status page opens.
•In the menuon the left, click Software. The Software page opens.
•Under Upgrade, click Browse.
•In the filebrowser, locate and select the NR file, then click Open.
•Verify that the file name is shown next to the Browsebutton.
•Set Autocommitto Enabledor Disabled:
•If Enabled, the packet radio automatically commits the software when
an upgrade is complete.
•The timer for automatic commit can only be set using CLI. The default
time before automatic commit is 60 minutes.
•If Disabled, commit the software when suitable by clicking Manual
Commit.
•Click Upgrade.
The packet radio will automatically activate the NR and restart
once the software is downloaded and flashed. It takes several
minutes for the packet radio to restart.
Note : The process cannot be cancelled until the NR is flashing. Click Cancel to
cancel the upgrade or downgrade process. All changes will be reverted.
When the process is cancelled, there is a 5-minute time-out before the it is possible
to restart the procedure.
•When the upgrade process is finished, confirm that the correct software version
is shown under Current State and Running Network Release.
•If Auto commit is disabled, commit the software when suitable by clicking
Manual Commit.

7. Node naming

This page is used to set and show general information about the packet radio.
Node Name –Type a name for the packet radio that you are logged in to.
Valid characters are alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, 0-9), dot (.), underscore (_), and space ( ). The first character must be
alphanumeric.
To enable service deployment and remote management using an NMS in a backhaul network, plan and configure
unique system names for every network element. The unique, non-empty, system name must be configured in each
network element during deployment.
When using IPT-NMS, make sure that the NE name does not contain more than 30 characters.
Location–Type the physical location of this packet radio, for example an address or map coordinates.
Contact–Type the contact details for the person responsible for the packet radio.
Save–Click to save any changes.
Reset–Click to cancel any changes.

8. Date/time setting

Date and Time –Shows the current NE time.
Time Zone –Select the time zone where the packet radio is located.
NTP
•Use NTP –Select to enable NTP. Clear to disable NTP.
•NTP Server –Type the IP address of the NTP server.
•NTP IP V6 Server –Type the IPv6 address of the NTP server.
•Synchronized–Shows if the node time has been synchronized with the NTP server or not.
•NTP Authentication–Select to enable NTP authentication. Clear to disable NTP authentication.
•Save–Click to save any changes.
•Cancel–Click to cancel any changes.

9. Configuring 1+0
Radio Links (GUI)
To configure radio links:
1.Log on to the Node GUI . The Status
pageopens.
2.In the menu on the left, click Radio Link.
Enter the radio link information as
described in Node GUI Descriptions.
Click Save.

10. Interference test
Performing a Spectrum Diagnostics Scan
Spectrum diagnostics scans the entire radio spectrum of the applicable
sub-band (index) and show theRFinput level for each available
complete channel.
Note: If the radio link is not , make sure that the far-end transmitter is turned
off before starting the scan.

Information
•Select all –Click to select all check boxes.
•Basic NE –Select to include basic
information such as name, location, and
DCN settings.
•Node Inventory –Select to include an
inventory of the hardware, software, and
licenses.
•Radio Link –Select to include the radio
link settings.
•Ethernet–Select to include the Ethernet
settings.
•Alarm List –Select to include the current
alarms.
•Event Log –Select to include the event
log.
•Debug Logs –Select to include the debug
logs.
•QoS and CoS–Select to include QoS and
CoS.
Description–Type a description with up to
800 characters that will be included in the
Node Report, for example additional notes
for troubleshooting or archiving purposes.
Generate–Click to generate the report.

13. Backup & restore file

This page is used to back up or restore the current configuration.
Backup
•Last Backup Time –Shows the date and time when the last
copy of the configuration file was requested.
•Backup–Click to download the configuration file to the PC.
The configuration file is saved as a compressed container file
named <IpAddress>_<Date>_<Time>_<NeType>_<NeName>.cdb.
Note : The Internet Explorer browser has a feature that
automatically changes the file extension from .cdbto .zip when
downloading a configuration file. If this browser is used for
downloading, the .zip file extension needs to be changed to .cdb
before it can be used to restore a configuration.
Restore
•Last Restore Time –Shows the date and time when a
configuration file was last used to restore the configuration.
•File/Choose File –Click to open a file browser where you can
select the configuration file to restore.
The configuration file is by default named
<IpAddress>_<Date>_<Time>_<NeType>_<NeName>.cdb.
Note :Make sure the configuration file has the file extension .cdb
.
•Restore–Click to restore the configuration.
Note :The packet radio restarts to use the restored configuration.

14. DCN configurations

This page is used to set up the Data Communication Network (DCN)
for transport of operation and maintenance data.
NE IP Address –Type the IP address used for traffic and
management of the packet radio.
Subnet Mask –Type the subnet mask of the interface in dotted
decimal notation (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).
Default Gateway –Type the IP address of the default gateway that
will receive all packets that have an IP address that falls outside the
subnet mask range and does not have an entry in the routing table.
DCN VLAN ID –Type the VLAN identifier (VLAN ID) of the DCN
management VLAN. 0 means that there is no management VLAN.
VLAN PCP –Select the Priority Code Point (PCP) value of the DCN
traffic that the packet radio sends.
IP DSCP –Select the Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP)
value of the DCN traffic that the packet radio sends.
VLAN Description –Type a description or name of the VLAN.
Near End Port Settings
•EtherType–Click to select the Ethernet type used for DCN and
traffic for the LAN and WAN ports.
•DCN VLAN –Mark to set the port as a DCN VLAN member.
•Mode –Shows the port mode.
Save–Click to save any changes.

15. Link performance

This page shows the G.826 performance counters for the current and previous periods, or
since the last reset of the counters. Click on a counter name to show historical data graphically.

This page is used to activate and configure optical traffic LAN port after connecting SFP module and optical fiber cable
▪Description–Type a description of the port.
▪Administrative Status In Service –Select Onto set the port in service. Select Off to set the port out of service.
▪Capability –Sets the capability of the port.
▪Operating Mode–Sets the port operating mode.
▪Operating Status –Shows the current port operating mode.
▪Switch Port
•Type –Shows the type of switch port.
•Port Ethernet Type –Type the Ethernet type of the switch port.
•Valid Frame Types –Select the acceptable frame types of the switch port.
•Ingress Filter –Select On to enable the ingress VLAN filter. Select Off to disable the ingress VLAN filter.
•Default VLAN –Type the ID of the switch port default VLAN
▪Sync
•Sync Ethernet Support –Select On to enable synchronous Ethernet. Select Off to disable synchronous Ethernet. It is not possible to
disable Synchronous Ethernet if a synchronization source is defined for this port.
•Egress SSM –Select the SSM signal notifying other nodes of the quality of this port as synchronization source.

18. Configure traffic

Description–Type a description of the port.
MAC Address –The MAC address of the port.
Administrative Status In Service –Select On to set the port in service. Select Off to set the port out of service.
Priority–Select the priority type of the port.
Capability–Sets the capability of the port.
Maximum Frame Size (bytes) –Type the maximum frame size in bytes.
Switch Port
•Type–Shows the type of switch port.
•Port Ethernet Type –Type the Ethernet type of the switch port.
•Valid Frame Types –Select the acceptable frame types of the switch port.
•Ingress Filter –Select On to enable the ingress VLAN filter. Select Off to disable the ingress VLAN filter.
Sync
•Sync Ethernet Support –Select On to enable synchronous Ethernet. Select Off to disable synchronous Ethernet. It is not
possible to disable Synchronous Ethernet if a synchronization source is defined for this port.

19. Requesting Licenses

To generate an LRF:
Steps
1.Log on to the Node GUI. The Status
pageopens.
2.Click License Management in the
menu to the left.
3.Use the + and − buttons to select the
number of licenses to request.
4.Click Generate LRF. A save dialog box
opens.
5.Browse to the desired location and
click Saveto save the LRF.

20. Installing Licenses

To install an LKF:
Steps
1.Log on to the Node GUI . The Status page opens.
2.Click System, then Licensein the menu to the left.
3.Click the Licensekeyfile tab.
4.Click Choosefile.
5.Browse to the location of the LKF and select the LKF.
6.Click Open.
7.Click Installto install the LKF.

21. CLI commands

Starting a CLI Session Locally using SSH
Before starting a CLI session, check that the necessary preparations
have been done. Note : The procedure to start a CLI session
depends on which SSH client is used. The default port is 22. A user-
name and user password is required.
Steps
To access a packet radio locally, for initial setup and connection
tests before outdoor installation, perform the following actions:
•Navigate to the folder on your PC where you downloaded and
extracted PuTTY.
•Run the PuTTYprogram file.
•Select SSHunder Connection type to enable SSH session
configuration.
•Enter the local IP address as [email protected] in theHost Name
(or IP address) field.
Note : The local IP address is 192.168.1.1by default. It
is not recommended to change the local IP
address.
•Click Opento open an SSH terminal connected to the packet
radio.
•Select Yeson the PuTTYSecurityAlertwindow.
Note: PuTTY Security Alert window is only displayed
when you access the NE for the first time.
•Enter the user-name and password in the CLI.

22. CLI commands

CLI PUTTY application is used to apply cli commands instead of GUI interface specially if
required parameter setting not available on GUI or if GUI license key not installed on MINI-
LINK 6352 node .
