Starting a CLI Session Locally using SSH
Before starting a CLI session, check that the necessary preparations
have been done. Note : The procedure to start a CLI session
depends on which SSH client is used. The default port is 22. A user-
name and user password is required.
Steps
To access a packet radio locally, for initial setup and connection
tests before outdoor installation, perform the following actions:
•Navigate to the folder on your PC where you downloaded and
extracted PuTTY.
•Run the PuTTYprogram file.
•Select SSHunder Connection type to enable SSH session
configuration.
•Enter the local IP address as
[email protected] in theHost Name
(or IP address) field.
Note : The local IP address is 192.168.1.1by default. It
is not recommended to change the local IP
address.
•Click Opento open an SSH terminal connected to the packet
radio.
•Select Yeson the PuTTYSecurityAlertwindow.
Note: PuTTY Security Alert window is only displayed
when you access the NE for the first time.
•Enter the user-name and password in the CLI.
