2. The great fire starts

3. New Events The Great fire started. Molly looked scared as her mother wasn’t well. The children ran back through the streets and into Pudding Lane. The air smelled of burning and the wind blew smoke towards them. They began to cough.

4. New Events The children ran past the baker’s and into Toby’s house. They woke his mother. The girls helped her downstairs, and onto the family’s cart. The baker’s house was burning fiercely. The children saw Thomas Farynor , Hannah and one of the servants, climbing along the roof towards their neighbor’s house.

5. New Events Thomas Farynor appeared in front of his burning building. He looked very upset because his gold was in the building. The street filled with people. Some shouted to their neighbors. Others screamed in fear. Toby’s mother wanted them to take her to the hostel. She thought it would be safer there. Bells were ringing loudly to warn the people that there was a fire.

6. New Events The children and Toby’s mother soon reached the hostel, and Toby’s mother went to her room to rest. Toby wanted to go out to see what was happening. Molly stayed to look after her mother. Lucy wanted to go back home but Robert refused he wanted to go out with Toby as it was real history and he wanted to see a bit of the fire.
