Act since 2021. From its inception, Guru Foundation, with the support of
esteemed donors and government/private agencies, has extensive experience
in the field of social upliftment in various districts of the state of Gujarat. It
has undertaken diverse activities related to women's empowerment, children,
youth, farmers, the differently-abled, begging eradication, etc.
Guru Foundation, with the help of its various departments, is performing
very well by providing training in various development-oriented sectors such
as health, education, environment, rural development, community
development, youth development, etc.

GEET-Institute For Skill Development :
GEET-Institute For Skill Development, operated by Guru Foundation, runs short-
term training courses.
Under this, short-term classes such as Sewing Class, Computer Class, Fashion
Designer, Beauty Parlour, Mehndi Class, etc., are conducted, and training is provided
within 03 months.

ઔધોણગક કૌ઴લ્ય તા઱ીમ કેન્ર : (Industrial Skill Training Center) :
Long-term training courses are conducted under the Industrial Skill Training Center
operated by Guru Foundation.
Under this, long-term classes such as Sewing Class, Computer Class, Fashion Designer,
Beauty Parlour, Mehndi Class, etc., are conducted, and training is provided within 12
months.

Begging Eradication Operations: (Patan City)
Begging is a serious problem for society, which poses numerous challenges at both the
individual and social levels. Various governmental and non-governmental organizations
are making efforts to eliminate this problem. This report sheds light on the progress,
challenges, and future planning of begging eradication operations.
Progress of Operations:
 Survey and Identification: Surveys have been conducted to identify beggars and
assess their needs.
 Rehabilitation Centers: Rehabilitation centers have been established to provide
shelter, food, and medical assistance to beggars.
 Skill Development Training: Skill development training programs have been
organized to make beggars self-reliant.
 Awareness Campaigns: Public awareness campaigns have been conducted to
raise awareness about the harmful effects of begging.
 Aid and Cooperation: Financial and social assistance has been provided to
beggars through government schemes and the cooperation of non-governmental
organizations.
Challenges:
 Large Number of Beggars: The large number of beggars makes it difficult to
meet their needs.
 Lack of Awareness: Many people are unaware of the harmful effects of begging,
and they donate to beggars, which exacerbates the problem.
 Lack of Rehabilitation: There is a lack of adequate facilities for the
rehabilitation of beggars.
 Lack of Social Acceptance: Beggars are not accepted in society, due to which

Hastkala Setu Yojana (Handicrafts Bridge Scheme):

Under the Hastkala Setu Yojana, an Entrepreneurship Development Training
Program was organized as a three-day training program from Date: 18-01-2023 to Date:
20-01-2023. Under this, the training was jointly organized by the Sponsor:
Commissioner, Cottage and Village Industries Department, Government of Gujarat;
Organizer: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad; and
Implementing Agency: Guru Foundation, Patan. Bharat Singh Solanki, Ravindrabhai,
Rajkumar from Hastkala Setu-Patan, along with the President of Guru Foundation Shri
Praful Guru, Secretary Geeta Parmar, and 28 trainees enthusiastically participated in the
program.

 EDP PROGRAMME
 Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India(EDII) Ahmadabad.
 Centre for Empowerment of Differently Abled (CEDA)
EDII has set up „Centre for Empowerment of Differently Abled (CEDA)‟ at the Institute supported
by Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Directorate of Social Defence, Gujarat State
Handicapped (Divyang) Finance & Development Corporation, Govt. of Gujarat. The centre has
been set up to promote entrepreneurship, employability and livelihood activities among the
differently abled.
The project is aimed at unleashing the entrepreneurial potential of the differently abled through
capacity building and training to ensure enterprise creation, employability and sustainable
livelihood options.
In this 5-year project, sanctioned in 2021, efforts will be focussed on conducting
entrepreneurship and livelihood training to empower people with disabilities to train them to
initiate entrepreneurial ventures in domains of their interest and convenience. The Centre will
also undertake research to steer policies in this direction.
The tangible outcomes of the project would be visible in terms of sensitisation of 11,500
participants and hardcore training of 12000 of these, thus resulting in improved economic
patterns; higher incidence of employment, entrepreneurship and livelihood, inclusive growth,
empowerment, setting up of close to 4800 enterprises and generation of around 9600
employment opportunities.
Objectives
The centre will aim at promoting entrepreneurship, employability and livelihood activities among
the divyangjan. Through an all-inclusive approach, the centre will sensitise, train and build
capacities of the differently abled, thus resulting in improved economic patterns; higher incidence

of employment, entrepreneurship and livelihood, inclusive growth, empowerment, setting up of
new enterprises and generation of employment opportunities.
To unleash the entrepreneurial potential of the differently abled through capacity building and
training to ensure enterprise creation, employability and sustainable livelihood options.
Vision
“Mainstreaming divyangjan through sustainable economic empowerment for self-reliance,
autonomy and inclusivity”.

Sensitisation and Awareness Creation:

Capacity Building:
Capacity building will enable Divyangjan to identify viable business opportunities, develop
feasible linkages available under various government schemes like MUDRA, Stand-up India, and

Livelihood and Skill Development:
Livelihood and Skill Development Programmes enable Divyangjan to adop t sustainable

confidence, self-esteem and rewarding entrepreneurial traits. Under this activity, following
livelihood and skill development training programmes are conducted for divyangjan.

Introduction:
Guru Foundation is a registered public trust and society under the Societies
Act since 2021. From its inception, Guru Foundation, with the support of
esteemed donors and government/private agencies, has extensive experience
in the field of social upliftment in various districts of the state of Gujarat. It
has undertaken diverse activities related to women's empowerment, children,
youth, farmers, the differently-abled, begging eradication, etc.
Guru Foundation, with the help of its various departments, is performing
very well by providing training in various development-oriented sectors such
as health, education, environment, rural development, community
development, youth development, etc.

GEET-Institute For Skill Development :
GEET-Institute For Skill Development, operated by Guru Foundation, runs short-
term training courses.
Under this, short-term classes such as Sewing Class, Computer Class, Fashion
Designer, Beauty Parlour, Mehndi Class, etc., are conducted, and training is provided
within 03 months.

ઔધોણગક કૌ઴લ્ય તા઱ીમ કેન્ર : (Industrial Skill Training Center) :
Long-term training courses are conducted under the Industrial Skill Training Center
operated by Guru Foundation.
Under this, long-term classes such as Sewing Class, Computer Class, Fashion Designer,
Beauty Parlour, Mehndi Class, etc., are conducted, and training is provided within 12
months.

Begging Eradication Operations: (Patan City)
Begging is a serious problem for society, which poses numerous challenges at both the
individual and social levels. Various governmental and non-governmental organizations
are making efforts to eliminate this problem. This report sheds light on the progress,
challenges, and future planning of begging eradication operations.
Progress of Operations:
 Survey and Identification: Surveys have been conducted to identify beggars and
assess their needs.
 Rehabilitation Centers: Rehabilitation centers have been established to provide
shelter, food, and medical assistance to beggars.
 Skill Development Training: Skill development training programs have been
organized to make beggars self-reliant.
 Awareness Campaigns: Public awareness campaigns have been conducted to
raise awareness about the harmful effects of begging.
 Aid and Cooperation: Financial and social assistance has been provided to
beggars through government schemes and the cooperation of non-governmental
organizations.
Challenges:
 Large Number of Beggars: The large number of beggars makes it difficult to
meet their needs.
 Lack of Awareness: Many people are unaware of the harmful effects of begging,
and they donate to beggars, which exacerbates the problem.
 Lack of Rehabilitation: There is a lack of adequate facilities for the
rehabilitation of beggars.
 Lack of Social Acceptance: Beggars are not accepted in society, due to which
they face difficulties even after rehabilitation.

 Economic Challenges: There is a lack of necessary funds for begging
eradication.
Future Planning:
 Integrated Approach: Increase coordination between governmental and non-
governmental organizations for begging eradication.
 Boosting Awareness Campaigns: Conduct more effective campaigns to raise
awareness about the harmful effects of begging.

Atal Bhujal Yojana (Water and Land Management Institute) - WALMI:
Training programs have been conducted in 36 villages of Patan Taluka.

Key Features of the Scheme:
 Eligibility: The scheme covers traditional artisans and craftspeople working with
their hands and tools in various trades. Some of the identified trades include

carpenter, boat maker, armourer, blacksmith, hammer and tool kit maker,
locksmith, potter, sculptor (stone carver), stone breaker, cobbler (shoe
smith/footwear artisan), mason, basket/mat/broom maker/coir weaver, doll & toy
maker (traditional), barber, garland maker, washerman, tailor, and fishing net

maker.
 Training:
o Basic Training: Up to 5 days with a stipend of ₹500 per day.
o Advanced Training: Up to 15 days with a stipend of ₹500 per day.
 Credit Support:
o First Tranche: Loan of up to ₹1 lakh with an interest rate capped at 5%.
o Second Tranche: Loan of up to ₹2 lakh with an interest rate capped at 5%
(available after repayment of the first tranche).
 Toolkit Incentive: ₹15,000 grant for purchasing modern tools.
 Digital Transactions Incentive: ₹1 per transaction, up to a maximum of ₹100
per month, for adopting digital payments.
 Marketing Support: Integration with e-commerce platforms, participation in
marketing events, and branding support.
Implementation:
The scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium
Enterprises (MSME). Registrations are being done through Common Service Centres
(CSCs) across the country.
