One-Day-Only Registration
• Available for individual days, from Saturday,
Oct. 18 to Tuesday, Oct. 21.
• One-Day-Only registrants may purchase an
Academy Plus course pass onsite only.
• Representatives and distributors from commer-
cial companies are not eligible for registration
in this category.
Registration: Exhibitors
All AAO 2014 and Retina Subspecialty Day Exhib-
iting company representatives and guests must
wear their personal Academy-issued exhibitor
meeting badge at all times while on McCormick
Place premises. Representatives must be able
to present photo identification that matches
the name on the badge they are wearing upon
request.
• Representatives of exhibiting companies are
registered in advance for AAO 2014 by the pri-
mary meeting contact from their company ap-
pointed to handle the details of the company’s
participation in the exhibition.
• Exhibitors may purchase Academy Plus course-
passes onsite only.
• Individuals from industry, including representa-
tives of exhibiting companies, may register
for any 2014 Subspecialty Day meeting using
the Commercial Representative registration
category.
• Commercial Representatives may not use the
Health Professional category to register for
AAO 2014 or Subspecialty Day. This category
is designated for those working in ophthalmic
practice or the academic arena. Misuse of this
registration category will result in cancellation
of the registration.
Use of Meeting Program Content/
Attendee Conduct
AAO 2014 and Subspecialty Day are not public
events. The program presented at AAO 2014 and
Subspecialty Day is for the education of attend-
ees, and purchasers of recorded presentations, as
authorized by the Academy.
• Recording (including but not limited to audio
recordings, videotaping/recording, photogra-
phy, etc.) of any component of the educational
programs at AAO 2014 and Subspecialty Day is
strictly prohibited without prior permission.
• Any use of program content, the name of the
speaker and/or program title or the name of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology without
the written consent of the Academy is prohibit-
ed. For the purposes of the preceding sentence,
“program content” includes but is not limited to
oral presentations, audiovisual materials used
by speakers and program handouts. This rule
applies before, during and after the meeting.
Children
Children 17 years of age and under receive
complimentary AAO 2014 registration. Children
may enter the exhibition only if they are wearing
a badge and accompanied by a registered adult.
Children cannot be admitted to Subspecialty Day
or AAO 2014 scientific sessions, instruction courses
or any other aspect of the Scientific Program
due to the scientific nature of the educational
programs and the Academy’s desire to maintain
an environment conducive to learning.
Conflict of Interest Policy for
Presenters
The Academy requires all presenters to disclose
on their first presentation slide whether they have
any financial interests from the past 12 months.
Additionally, presenters are required to verbally
disclose any financial interests that specifically
pertain to their presentation. Even with these
acknowledgements, the Academy’s AAO 2014
Program Committee expects that all presenters
will give a fair and unbiased scientific talk. If you
feel that a presenter did not follow these guide-
lines or was unduly biased please contact the
Academy’s meetings staff at

Exhibition
Only authorized personnel of exhibiting companies
as well as registered attendees have access to
the Exhibition. Solicitation by any individual not
participating as an exhibitor is prohibited. Individ-
uals who violate this policy are escorted from the
premises. Attendees should report unauthorized
soliciting or other questionable practices to the
exhibition director’s office, located in the Exhibitor
Service Center South, Hall A.
