About AAVIN The Dharmapuri Distrsict co-op. Milk producers union Ltd., has been registerd on 29.05.1982 and started function from 16-11-1982. Milk handeling capacity of aavin , feeder balance at krishnagiri diary – 1.50 lak liters/day milk chilling at dharmapuri – 0.5. lakhs liters / day milk chilling at denkanikottai - 10000 liters / day

QUALITY POLICY Krishnagiri aavin is comitted ‘‘ to supply milk and milkproducts to meet needs and satisfaction of customers by adopting best standards in a hygenic and safe environment with continual improvement of quality iwth Motivation, commited and training of employees’’ Its exports major to CHEENAI .

FUNCTIONS OF CO-OPERATIVE PRODUCERS UNION Establishment of chilling center Formulation of new milk routes to collect milk produced by the members of the socities. Collection of milk from socities, process and pack in modern dairy. Supply of quality milk. Fixation of procurementand selling price of milk. Supply of inputs to the members of the socities

The workers work on the following shift basis: A 6am – 2pm B 2pm – 10pm C 10pm – 6am It is one of the 24 hours working company and over time is allowed for 4 hours with extra benefit.

Production Department Aavin produces over 1,40,000 litres of Milk per Day (MPD), The company needs 10,000 Units of power consumption per day for its production purpose. It uses latest technology with expensive machines for production.

The production department has four sections Milk Section Cream Section Butter Section Powder Section Milk powder Section Gulfi and khoa production section

Marketing Department The Dharmapuri District Cooperative Milk Producer Union Ltd they do not marketing their products if any advertisement and promotion, because they use “word of mouth” concepts.

Dharmapuri Union markets about 28,000 litres of liquid milk per day in krishnagiri and dharmapuri districts, Around 50,000 litres of milk is dispatched to Chennai by road tankers every day. Rest of the milk that remains after dispatching for sales are used for manufacturing various by products of milk. 

SWOT ANALYSIS STRENGTH Government organization Employees It has covered more than 90% of the villages through milk procurement system. The Union has a good growth in liquid milk sales during the last five years. The Union has a wide range of milk products.

CONCLUSION It was a new experience in the krishnagiri aavin and I have learned new technologies they are using currently. The employees of aavin respond so well they helped me to gather information about the company. The dharmapuri district co-op milk producer’s union Ltd. has been performing well in the milk and milk product goods, but they should really focus on their safety of their employees and machineries. Both educated and uneducated gets employment opportunities because of this organization. Thus, the organization provides great satisfaction to the public and employees.
