Phobia A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder. Is a strong and irrational fear of something that has little or no actual danger.

ACROPHOBIA Acrophobia is the fear of heights. Acrophobia generates anxiety which induces avoidance behavior in the feared situation.

In this case, look out on a balcony, found the edge of a cliff, being in an elevated viewpoint are typical examples of this type of phobia . Approximately 3 to 5% of the world population suffers from this phobia

Treatment The most common treatment for this, and general, for all phobias is a therapy called "Habituation" in which the therapist teaches the patient to using relaxation techniques to stressful situations , and gradually subjected to situations where phobia appears to be fear decline.
