ADENOCARCINOMA group D2
• Distribution : Adenocarcinomas are found throughout the colon with roughly equal frequency. • Proximal Colon : Tumors on the right side (proximal colon) tend to be polypoid, exophytic masses that extend along one wall of the large- caliber cecum and ascending colon. These growths rarely cause blockage. • Distal colon : Tumors on the left side (distal colon) are often annular, encircling the colon and causing a narrowing effect similar to a napkin ring. • Symptoms : Symptoms of colorectal carcinoma include blood in the stool, changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, weakness and weight loss. • Screening : Regular screening is the key to early detection. Screening tests can help identify precancerous polyps or early-stage cancer, which can be treated more effectively.
• Treatment : Treatment for colorectal cancer depends on the stage and location of the cancer. Surgery is the most common treatment, often combined with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
