The staff should hold discussion
Identify the areas in which they wish to make a definite
statement of their belief and come to unanimous
decision as to what is desirable and feasible in the
interest of the student, the institution,the publicand
the profession.
Components of philosophy should include;

4. Health
5. Teaching and learning environment
6. Nursing education.
The statementof philosophy will be the
foundationon which the objectivesof the
programme will be determined, the policies
framed and the school managed.
It should be made knownto the staff of the
institution, all new staff on appointment, students
and other interestedperson
It should be displayed in the notice board,
website, broachers, pamphlets etc.
We the faculty of Sri Devaraj Urs College of Nursing
stated philosophy as mentioned below;
We believe that the basic course of B.Sc(N) is a formal
educational preparation which should be based on educational
principles.
We recognise that the foundation on which the practice of
nursing is built and on which further professional education
depends.
We accept that we have responsible to the student and to the
society to make provision in the programme for continued
development of the student as individual, a citizen as well as a
nurse.
To educate and train the students in both theory and
practical to provide a quality comprehensive care to the
patient.
To educate and train students to assess health status in order
to provide prioritised nsg care by applying scientific
principles
To educate students to recognise the need for higher
education and research which is essential for brining
changes in nsg profession.
To train students to acquire leadership abilities and function
as leaders in the field of nsg service, education,
administration and research.

College of Nursing School of Nursing
The College of Nursing should have 100-150 bedded
multi-speciality parent hospital for an annual intake of 40
to 60 students.
The bed occupancy should be minimum of 75%
Affiliated hospital facilities also needs to be provided and
it should be in the radius of 15-30 kms.
The student patient ratio of 1:3 to be maintained in the
hospital.

-Frequent/ Unauthorized absent
-Irregular for classes/ clinical
-Not obeying the seniors/teachers
-stealing from friends/patients
-Using mobile in class hours/ during clinical
-forgery signature of the faculty
-violating the rules and regulations of the college and hostel
