Slide Content

AVISHKAR-2020, ZCOER,Pune. 1 Title of the Project: Name of the College : Presented by Prof. A. S. N. Husainy (Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department) DEVELOPMENT OF P.V. ASSISTED SOLAR DRYER WITH DESICCANT STORAGE FOR DRY FRUITS APPLICATION Sharad Institute of Technology collage of Engineering, Yadarav

Outline of the Presentation : Introduction Problem Statement Experimental set up Component of Projects & Working Mechanism Cost Estimation Conclusion & Scope for future work Advantages & Applications References AVISHKAR-2020, ZCOER,Pune . 2

Introduction Basic principles: 3 Introduction of Project Past work done on the project The principle of the solar drying technique is to collect solar energy by heating-up the air volume in solar collectors and conduct the hot air from the collector to an attached enclosure, the meat drying chamber . There is no direct impact of solar radiation (sunshine) on the product. Working principles: Converting light to heat Converting light to heat Trapping heat Moving the heat to the food

AVISHKAR-2020, ZCOER,Pune. 4 Idea About The Project

AVISHKAR-2020, ZCOER,Pune. 5 Nearly 30% of the fruits and vegetables in India are wasted due to lack of food processing units. The opportunity for skill development of rural women and youth in processing of fruits and vegetables in clean and hygienic conditions producing highly nutritive products. Drying of fruits and vegetables offers a challenging task due to different structural characteristics of these products. The removal of water from these products must be accomplished the physio-chemical properties and quality of the dried products Problem Statement

8 Cost Estimation 1) Battery : 5400/- 2) Silica Jel : 230/kg : 460/- 3) Blowing fans : 700 4)PVC pipe : 350/- 5)Energy storage(photovoltaic cell) : ( 40 Watt ) : 1500/- 6)IOT(Internet of things): 550/- 7) Tray : 400/- 8) Fabrication : 3000/- 9) UV Sheet : 1000/- Overall Costing : 13,360/-

9 Conclusion & Scope for future work The efficiency of solar drying system is affected by the properties of drying materials. e.g. moisture content, size, shape, and geometry as well as ambient conditions which includes solar radiation and temperature, relative humidity, velocity and atmospheric pressure of ambient air Economically sound farmers capable of moderate investments can choose solar dryers according to their individual requirements
