Adverbs of Manner

We use adverbs of manner to describe how something happens. An adverb can be added to a verb to modify its meaning.

“She plays piano.” “She plays piano beautifully.” “She plays piano softly.” “She plays piano terribly.”

We usually form adverbs of manner by adding – ly to the adjective. bad-badly careful-carefully

Adverbs of manner are usually placed after the main verb or after the object. It can be also used after the verb.

When a sentence consists of verb+ preposition + object w e can put the adverb before the preposition or after the object.

When we use passive form, the adverb goes before the past participle.
