What do you think about when someone says 'Agriculture'? I think about all the hard working men
and women who have jobs associated with agriculture. For example, veterinarians, agronomists,
wildlife inspectors, and even my ag teacher. Today, I have interviewed my cousin, Sarah Marx, to
help build interest for myself as well as others in agriculture. Sarah grew up in Beemer, Nebraska.
So, agriculture has been an interest of her's her entire life. Sarah was apart of the Beemer Dreemers
4–H club for 12 years where she showed rabbits and helped with the other livestock shows. Now,
Sarah lives on a farm in Wisner, Nebraska where she has a horse training camp. She is also one of
the Beemer Dreemers club leaders.

For one, I love being able to communicate with people. If you can communicate well, this might be
a job to consider. Another aspect I liked was accounting. I'm a great math student and to be able to
incorporate math with my career will be great. Another aspect I like is being able to work in the
agriculture atmosphere. I've been in 4–H for 9 years now and this is my first year of participating in
FFA. As a freshman in high school, I love looking at all of my options for my future. Agriculture has
been one of my career options since 7th grade. As I learn more and more about agriculture and how
it plays a very important part in the world, my interest grows stronger and stronger.
To prepare for this career, I would have to have lots of extra classes, be certified with all Microsoft
programs, be a certified office tech, have lots of experience, and communication skills. I am

mentioned that, in early years, the family was in the business of grains, but they decided to search
for different horizons and built something different than grain productions. They were tired of
producing grains, and in the process of looking for a different crops and opportunities they decided
to start cotton production in Virginia in 1991, later, in 1992, the Commonwealth Cotton Gin
company was started, and currently they possess two facilities, that although in some period one
facility was not running, four years ago, they started to run it again.
The company perform four main activities, the first one is ginning, which consist in separate the
seed from the cotton fiber with the use of a machine, and after that, marketing is an important
service provided to their customers, because the company act as a binding point between the

farmers. Congress responded with the Federal Farm Loan Act of 1916. During the Great Depression,
farmers were unable to pay the expenses they were faced with and many of them left their farms in
defeat. Congress stepped in by passing the Emergency Farm Mortgage Act of 1933 and the Farm

In most of the less developed and developing countries the people involved in agriculture mostly
belong to the lower strata of the society. They are looked down upon and so is their profession
consequently agriculture is not seen as an attractive profession. This biasness takes various forms

inadequate provision of infrastructure and social overhead capital: crop storage facilities, health

different species of birds. It is also harder to harvest than sustainable. It can even affect us, when the
level is high on the plants the higher is the chance of getting ill , like cancer. So people who live
close to these farm lands that use traditional agriculture have a chance of having cancer going
through their family generations.
