Introduction to Ahmedabad Smart City Ahmedabad, the largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat, is on a transformative journey towards becoming a Smart City. With its rich cultural heritage and a rapidly growing urban landscape, the city faces a myriad of challenges in terms of infrastructure, sustainability, and quality of life The Ahmedabad Smart City project aims to address these challenges by integrating technology, sustainable practices, and innovative solutions to create a modern, efficient, and people-centric urban environment. This ambitious initiative encompasses various aspects of urban development, including smart governance, intelligent transportation systems, eco-friendly infrastructure, and digital connectivity The journey towards a smarter and more efficient Ahmedabad presents both challenges and opportunities, requiring strategic planning and collaborative efforts from multiple stakeholders.

WHAT IS SMART CITY?

To make Ahmedabad a smart city, several strategies and initiatives can be implemented across various sectors. 1. Infrastructure Development : Upgrade and expand basic infrastructure such as roads, public transportation, water supply, and sanitation systems. Implement smart technologies for efficient management of these systems, such as traffic management systems, smart meters for water usage, and waste management solutions.

2.Public Transportation: Improve public transportation systems including buses, metro, and railways to reduce traffic congestion and pollution. Integrate smart technologies for real-time tracking of vehicles, electronic ticketing systems, and passenger information systems to enhance user experience.

3. Digital Connectivity: Ensure widespread access to high-speed internet connectivity throughout the city. Promote the development of digital infrastructure to support e-governance, e-commerce, telemedicine, and online education.

PROPOSAL FOR AHMEDABAD TO MAKE IT A SMART CITY 1. Make dumping ground at 4 different area of Ahmedabad at the outskirts of city in different zone consisting of East, West, North, South respectively for the different zones.

2. Making use of the signals in a channel so that the traffic flow remains constant. Yellow box junction

3. Smart card for Travelling within the city as it is a metro city, a smart card shall be there for the people to commute with Ease.

4. Water management by IOT or pressure sensors so that the water pressure can be checked, and any leaks can be encountered easily.

5. Retrofitting’s of old bridge to make it a historic bridge ( Gandhi Bridge a bridge where Gandhiji have made their march and that bridge was made by British for life span of 50 years but now we can make it open as a heritage bridge for public.
