INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
❏HIV is an infection that attacks the body’s immune system
❏AIDS is the most advanced stage of the disease
❏HIV targets the body’s white blood cells and weakens the immune system
❏HIV spreads from the body fluids of an infected person including blood, breast milk, semen and
vaginal fluids
●Symptoms (first few weeks)
-Fever
-Headache
-Rash
-Sore throat
●Symptoms (severe)
-Swollen lymph nodes
-Weight loss
-Diarrhoea
-Cough
●Complications
-Tuberculosis
-Cryptococcal meningitis
-Severe bacterial infections
-Lymphomas and Kaposi’s sarcoma

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
❏Raising awareness about the risk factors of HIV
❏Providing knowledge on the ways of HIV transmission
❏Educating individuals on preventive measures
❏Provide support services for affected individuals and their affected families
❏ Encouraging the public to get their HIV screening done
❏Providing knowledge on coping mechanisms for infected individuals
❏Fostering a supportive community environment
❏Raising fund to donate to HIV NGOs

❏Educating people on ways of preventing HIV through safe sex practices, proper use of
condoms and clean needle exchange programme for IV drug users
❏Raising awareness on modes of transmission and high-risk behaviours through short video
❏Increasing the awareness about the prevalence of HIV and its impact on individuals through a
talk and fun quiz.
❏Encouraging the public to get their screening done by setting up a booth for HIV screening
❏Addressing the stigma and discrimination surrounding HIV by breaking the myths through an
awareness talk.
❏ Offering support services through counselling sessions for affected individuals and their

The spacious layout of the lake garden allows ample space for
runners as well as event activities

Selangor has the largest population and also reported the
highest number of new HIV cases in 2021, 842 cases
[2]
.
This location is indeed ideal as we will be able to cover a larger
target group while giving our project a greater reach

EVENT OUTLINE

Post Diagnosis of Event
After the screening test for HIV/AIDS, for those who were
tested positive will be given a free routine checkup by the
hospital correlation with. Sponsors will be able to help in
treatment & counseling to these patients & patient’s family
will be given a free routine checkup and HIV/AIDS Screening
will be done.

REPORTING, MONITORING,
& EVALUATION

Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation
Reporting Reporting will be done during Run and during the health
screening and the reports will be recorded.
Monitoring QR Code will be provided on the brochure and on the booths to
asses the understanding about HIV/AIDS among participants
Evaluation Collection of data will be taken from blood workups, surveys and
feedbacks forms from the participants as well
