dividedintotwogroups–thefirstgroupconsistsofcaves1-10,
whichwerebuiltbetweenthe2ndcenturyBCandthe1stcentury
AD,andthesecondgroupconsistsofcaves11-29,whichwere
builtbetweenthe5thand6thcenturiesAD.
ThecavetemplesatAjantaarecarvedoutofsolidrockandare
decoratedwithelaboratesculpturesandfrescoes.Thepaintings
depictvariousscenesfromtheJatakatales,whicharestories
