Citizenship
Pathway
In Slovenia, foreigners can’t
directly obtain citizenship
by investment, but there
are alternatives to this.
The main route is to first
become a permanent
resident.

Residency for Investors
Investors can
become permanent
residents by setting
up a business in
Slovenia.

Permanent residency, even for investment
purposes, can be acquired in a period of 5 years.

Obtaining
Citizenship
Investors who have
acquired permanent
residency can apply for
citizenship after 10 years
of living here.

Capital
Requirements
Those participating in the
residency by investment
program must be able to
invest at least EUR 50,000.

Participants of this program can include in the
visa application their close family members.

An eligible investor can
be any person of
minimum 18 years old,
who disposes of the
necessary capital.

Processing of the
Application
A visa for investment
purposes can be
processed in a period of
around 3 months.
