How people live
As part of our weekly series, w e asked Lila Rivera and Tim
Greenwood to tell us abo ut their lives .
Lila is a hardworking teacher in Miami. She gets up a t six
thirty every morning and has breakf ast. Then she make s
sandwic hes to take for lunch an d gets ready for work. Lila
usually walk s to work because she thinks it’s important to
exercise every day. She sometimes walks home in t he
evening, but she usually take s the bus. Lila has dinner at
seven o’clock and goes to bed early. She doesn’t g o out
during the w eek, but she often goes out with fr iends o n
the weekend. Lila eats f ive portions of fruit and veg etables
every day and fish twice a we ek. She eat s meat
sometimes, but she doesn’t smoke. For more exer cise,
Lila goes to the gy m three times a week. She’s very
healthy and is hardly eve r sick.
Tim lives by the oc ean in Pa lm Beac h. He’s a journalist for
a local newspaper . He usually get s up at eig ht o’clock,
takes a quick shower, and then he driv es to work. Tim
doesn’t have time for break fast, but he sometimes ha s a
sandwic h in the m iddle o f the m orning. At lunchtime, he
usually has a burger. He buys it from the fast-food
restaurant across the street and eats at his desk. Tim
works long hours and of ten stays late in the evening . On
those days, he goes to a restaurant with people fr om
work. They usually have a big d inner. Tim d oesn’t ea t fruit,
and he doesn’t like vegetabl es. He plays football once a
month, but he isn’t ve ry healthy.
