was well known for it’s medicinal use
and was said to be precious.
Hence , also worshipped during tulsi
pooja.
Our ancestors had discovered the
beneficial effects of gooseberry in the
field medicine and even implemented it

 Phyllanthus emblica the indian goose
berry,or amla from sanskrit “amlika” is a
decidious tree of family phyllanthaceae.
