Anchal from its inception established its foundations and strength in its ability to conduct family focused programmes involving and covering the entire family building greater awareness, sensitivity and capacity building programmes to support individual and community health, education, reproductive and child health, child development, non-communicable diseases, with greater stress for families affected by HIV/AIDS and disability.

disability friendly and, even the basic fundamentals in
this regard are found lacking.
We in India have achieved nothing beyond the usual
plethora of words and multiple speak. Insensitivity is
today, at an all-time high driven by the knowledge that
any person's loss or deprivation of access to government
infrastructure facilities, is my gain. Non-delivery of
essential services leaves that individual more vulnerable,
deprived, stripped off of one's 'Right' to dignity and
therefore, at the mercy of those in power, open to
manipulation and exploitation.
Our decision to publish the results of our endeavour in
Advances is to create an ever widening circle of
awareness and knowledge, of caring and sharing - a
'knowledge pool' managed by professionals, stake-
holders and beneficiaries providing a 'Forum' for all. To
place on record realities at the grass root level to
identify and ensure achievement of objectives on every
plain, a meaningful public 'Forum' duly empowered and
accountable.
ACT maintains the role of a facilitator serving all without
any thought of personal or institutional gains. We look
forward to your invaluable observations and contribution
in these pages which provides a serious look into our
priorities of intervention initiatives.
