How Do I Use Career Anchor Information?
Next, each bid the maximum amount they would be willing to
pay for each item. Did the initial “anchor” amount influence
each student’s ultimate bids?
In this experiment, business students were asked if they would
pay the last 2 digits of their social security numbers for each of
several items (e.g., 34 = $34)
“Although students were reminded
that the social security number is a
random quantity conveying no
information, those who happened to
have high social security numbers
were willing to pay much more for
the products.”

construction of value. Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, 1-10.
Perhaps
students
were just
using price
as an
estimate of
unknown
quality?
Producers want to
anchor to a higher
priced alternative
–Even if it means
creating an artificial
alternative
Producers avoid
anchoring to a lower
priced alternative
–Differentiation is key
If we anchored Starbucks coffee
by Dunkin Donuts coffee,
would we buy Starbucks?

MAHARASHTRA INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY
Inauguration Script for SCI-CLONE
•“All successful people men and women
are big dreamers. They imagine what their
future could be, ideal in every respect and
then they work every day towards their
distant vision, that goal or purpose!”
•Good Morning,

•“Discovering your vocational interests, can
help your balloon soar greater heights of
Success.”

gifted us Raman effect on this same day
i.e.28
th

•Consider things on every angle and
aspect. Motivation comes from
determination. To be able to understand
life, you should feel the sun from both
sides.
•This quote perfectly describes to Prof.
Amit Rawate who thinks on problems from
every angle and aspect. So before much
await I now request Prof. Amit Rawate, the
convenor of SCI-clone to GIVE PREAMBLE
OF THE EVENT.
•Thank you, Sir.
•Instead of focusing on how much you can
accomplish, focus on how much you can
absolutely love what you are doing. Our
Principal has always been pushing us to
focus on things that we love and achieve
perfection in it. We have been doing things
what we love and loving things what we do.
This could be only possible with the faith
that the Principal keeps in us. I request our
principal Dr. Santosh Bhosle to come on
stage and say a few words.
•Thank you, Sir.
•
•Thank you, Sir . When you follow the
dreams in your heart, you’re energized,
inspired and motivated. A person who
has always been energizing, inspiring
and motivating us to move ahead, fight
with problems and emerge victorious is
our Director General prof. Munish
Sharma. I request him to please come up
and motivate us once again to be
winners.
•Thank you, Sir.
•
•The real voyage of discovery consists
not in seeing new lands but seeing
with new eyes.
•One such person is Dr. Ranjan Garge
who believes in seeing with new eyes.
•Such is the personality of Dr.
Ranjan Garge. So, I now request
sir to say a few words and
inspire us.
•Thank you, sir.
•“Try not to become a man of Success
but a man of Values.”
•One such person is Dr. Y.A. Kawade, a
man of values, who has always been
instilling faith in us and telling us that
why be an option, be a choice.
•I request him to please say a few words
and enthuse us.
•Thank you, Sir.
•
•When it rains the birds occupy shelter. But
eagle the only bird avoids the rains by flying
above the clouds. Problem is common to all
but attitude makes the difference, such is
our Prof. S.D. SANE who incite us to fly
above all difficulties.
•I now please request to Prof. S.D. SANE to
give a vote of thanks.
•Thank you, Sir.
•
•last but not the least-
•“Watch your Thoughts they become
Words.
•Watch your Words they become Actions.
•Watch your Actions they become Habits.
•Watch your Habits they become Character.
•Watch your Character they become
Destiny.”
•There is a Sci talk after a short break of 5
min.
•I now request all of you to kindly stand up
for the National Anthem
