4. Advantages Easy to add / remove nodes in a network. Required only cable. It is less expensive. It is easy to maintain. Disadvantages If a cable fail then the entire network failed. It take more time to pass the message from one place to another. The length of the cable is limited .

6. Advantages It form a strong network. Each and every node can share data with another node connected through topology. One direction flow of data . Disadvantages It is quite expensive. It is difficult task to add new computer. We can’t send private message .

7. Cont …. 3. Star Topology A Star topology is a type of network topology in which all the devices or nodes are physically connected to a central node such as a router, switch, or hub. The central node (hub) acts as a server, and the connecting nodes act as clients .

8. Advantages It is less expensive due to less cable. Easy to connect new node without affecting rest of the network. If one node failed, it would not be failure of entire network . Disadvantages In star topologywe must required a network device like HUB,switch e.t.c . If HUB is failed the entire network is failed. We can’t send private message .

10. Advantages It is very good topology to send private message. Multiple device can send and receive data simultaneously. Disadvantages it is difficult to add new node because each and every computer is connected with another . It's costly as compared to the opposite network topologies i.e. star, bus, point to point topology

In a tree topology, there is one central node (the “trunk”), and each node is connected to the central node through a single path. Nodes can be thought of as branches coming off of the trunk.

12. Advantages Expansion of node is easy and possible. Easily managed and maintained. Error detection is easily done. Disadvantages It is costly and complex. If cable fail then whole network fail.

Hybrid topologies structure is scalable as if any user wants to add any network or hardware component then it can be easily done without any disturbances in the network.  Disadvantages It is highly costly. Due to cable failure of the main backbone cable the other connected topologies that function with its help affect the entire network.
