Arabic grammar : How to identify the noun ( ٱلْإسْم ) in a sentence ?.
If you don’t know the meaning of the words of a sentence, it will be not easy to identify the noun. With 4 hints, you are going to be more comfortable to distinguish the noun from the verb.
Hint 1: noun carries tanween Contrarily to verb ( ٱلْفِعْل ) , The ٱلْإسْم can carry the tanween : it mean the noun can carry double fathah , or double dammah or double kasrah in the last letter of the word. Example: غُلاَ مٌ غُلاَ ماً غُلاَ مٍ
Hint 2: noun carries the ٱل Contrarily to verb ( ٱلْفِعْل ), The ٱلْإسْم can carry ٱل in the beginning of the word to transform the noun from indefinite noun to definite noun. Example: غُلاَمٌ + ٱل = ٱلْ غُلاَمُ the young boy هِرٌّ + ٱل = ٱلْ هِرٌّ the cat
Hint 3: noun can carries ة Contrarily to verb ( ٱلْفِعْل ) , The ٱلْإسْم can carry التَّاء ٱلْمَرْبُوطَة ( ة ) in the end of the word to indicate the feminine gender. Example: لَذِيذَ ة ( delicious)
