Introduction

Perspective

My pledge to architecture stems from the potential of leaving
a positive impact on the world, and improving the way people
experience the built environment, by addressing social and
environmental challenges through innovative design and
sustainable solutions. I'm committed to creating spaces that
not only serve a particular purpose but also evoke emotions,
provoke thoughts, inspire, and not only serve the needs of
the present but also contribute to a better future.

The project entails the renovation of the Sudanese Business Federation
office in Sudan. The existing spaces present several design challenges,
including circulation issues, suboptimal furniture layout, and mismatched
furniture sizes. The current reception hall layout suffers from circulation
problems, partly due to the division between the reception desk area and the
waiting area. This has resulted in narrowness and a lack of oversight. The
haphazard placement of furniture around the stairway has led to confusion
and disrupted circulation. The furniture, finishing materials, decorations, and
lighting fixtures choises are outdated and unmaintained, necessitating space
renovation.

The Sudanese Business Federation is committed to addressing the business
environment in Sudan, attracting investments and highlighting the
country's abundant resources and industrial capabilities. The interior
design concept aims to capture the essence of Sudan by incorporating
elements inspired by its unique landscape. Utilizing grey mountain stone,
warm desert tones, water clarity, and greenery, the design offers
a compelling glimpse into Sudan's natural beauty and diverse terrain

Mood Board

The partition wall separating the reception hall and the waiting area has been removed,
allowing more natural light to filter in through the new curtains. The old reception desk
has been replaced with a new, modern desk featuring a logo carved into a metal plate.
An artificial floral backdrop, bordered by a pattern cut metal plate that was inspired by the

trade arrows that’s found in logo, provides an elegant backdrop, enhanced by subtle
background lighting.

Master Plan

The project entails a tranquil bistro by the Nile, meticulously designed to provide a serene
escape and a revitalizing ambiance. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating
areas, strategically divided into zones catering to group gatherings, events, as well as relaxation
and tranquility. The selection of finishings, fixtures and furniture was carefully curated to
enhance the functionality of each area and ensure a seamless experience for its patrons.

The restaurant's interior draws inspiration from woodlands and fruit
farming. The ground floor's main lobby and service counter aim to
evoke freshness, utilizing fruit basket containers reminiscent of
gathering fruit from grove trees. A fusion of rural and industrial
styles is evident, with rough materials, wicker, farm machinery, and
flora combined to create a modern rustic ambiance.

Studio Apartment Design

Building Type : Residential Unit
Scope : Interior Design

Engagement Phase: Schematic Design, Design Development
Year: 2024

The design draws inspiration from a clean and neutral aesthetic, chosen for its suitability in the compact
space. Opting for a modern minimalist style, it emphasizes wide surface areas over cluttered shelving
and intricate details, ensuring a spacious and uncluttered look. Introducing touches of black and blue
provides contrast and adds vitality to the space.

The entrance to the apartment through the kitchen creates a functional overlap. To address
this, a kitchen pocket door serves as the design solution. The door can be opened during
cooking activities and closed when moving around the space.

The interior design was conceptualized after the bu
presenting the challenge of crafting the desired aesthetics within the
existing partition walls and columns. This endeavor involved strategically
adding and removing partition walls, cladding of columns and extending
specific areas of the concrete slabs. The overarching goal was to achieve
the aesthetic appeal while minimizing alterations to the existing structure.

Elegance, clarity and serenity were the key words of the design. as shown
through clean light shades, golden accents and enormous lighting features.
The spiral stair as the center piece was finished with white marble and railed
with golden wrought ornaments, monochrome gupsum carving adorned the
back wall assuring artistry and clarity. The furniture was chosen to be
modern & elegant. seats upholstery included velvet and cotton, while the rest
of the furniture employed metal, marble and glass,

The current layout of the living space makes it predominantly
used for circulation, from the main entrance to the bathroom
and backyard door, all pathes cut through the seating zone
which causes interruption and discomfort. Adjustments were
implemented to centralize furniture arrangement, thereby
facilitating a designated gathering area. By reorganizing
circulation paths to circumvent, rather than intersect with the
primary seating zone. Additionally, strategic placement of the
bathroom entrance ensures it does not directly face the main
house entrance, enhancing privacy and spatial coherence.

Villa Renovation/ BIM Modelling

Building Type : Private Villa
Work Scope : Architectural & Interior Design Renovation

Stages : Design Development, BIM Modelling, Construction Documents/ Administration
Year : 2021 - 2023

The project is a renovation of an existing villa, which faced several le |
design and construction challenges. Alongside new requirements, the 4
renovation aimed at addressing various design flaws and modernizing
engineering systems. Efforts were made to retain the villa's positive
aspects and original design ethos, emphasizing openness and connectivity
between indoor and outdoor spaces. The renovation process encompassed
demolishing and replacing partitions, making structural modifications,
installing new engineering systems, and reconfiguring the furniture layout.

Existing Construction Ground Floor New Plan

Aesthetic and functional considerations guided the exterior renovation. The previous
shading system, which had fully covered the elevation, hindering sunlight and natural
ventilation, was replaced with more practical elements. Enormous building frames now
border the structure, offering aesthetic appeal, privacy, and partial shading. To address
the building's exposure to the afternoon sun and the main road, the main elevation
features larger blocks and fewer window apertures. Additionally, an adjustable
sunbreaker system, integrated with the building frames, serves the same purpose.

ano

Western Elevation

The garden-facing side of the building was designed to be more open, capitalizing on
the privacy offered by the garden compared to the street side, Its northern orientation
also reduces direct sunlight. This side features curtain walls and wide apertures,
enclosed within building frames, and a sunbreaker system, serving as the main elevation.

The building required new modern MEP systems that were etermined
to be best suited as ceiling mounted, which also provides maintenance
flexibility. The building was not initially designed to house ceiling
contemporary systems and machinery, as it draws from floor height,
the challenge was to maintain appropriate floors heights and have
the desired systems installed. In order to solve the problem, a new
ceiling arrangement was designed with coordination with the
engineering team that allows piping and HVAC ducts to only travel
through specific paths to reduce ceiling drop area. the design
allowed to have high ceiling levels where equipment installation was
limited to designated areas.

The previous staircase adhered to the octosyllabic form, lacked a
landing, and was obstructed by a nearby column. It has since
been replaced with a more comfortable and thematically consistent

complemented by glass and golden metal railings.
