NUTRACEUTICAL INDUSTRY. Nutraceuticals is a broad umbrella term that is used to describe any product derived from food sources with extra health benefits in addition to the basic nutritional value found in foods.

The nutraceutical industry encompasses three main segments which include functional foods, dietary supplements, and herbal/natural products.

Arjuna Natural Extracts Ltd is India’s leading manufacturer and exporter of standardized botanical extracts for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries was founded by Mr. P.J Kunjachan & Dr. Benny Antony in 1989. Arjuna has to its credit a total of 26 patents of which 25 are international patents.

Currently in India Arjuna is the only manufacturer of concentrated Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil. A GMP certified, Arjuna has achieved reputed international certifications including ISO 22000, Star K Kosher and Halal . head office is at Aluva and manufacturing facilities at Coimbatore and Edayar .

PROJECT TITLE A study on “effectiveness of training in Arjuna Natural Extracts Ltd”

METHODS USED Questionnaire Method. Direct interaction with employees. Collecting Feedbacks from employees .

OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT To access whether training programs has any effect on the performance of the employees. To analyze the need of training in the organization. To analyze the training methods followed in Arjuna natural extracts ltd,Coimbatore and its merits.

To study the impact of training programs. To understand the employees attitude towards the training programs.

TOOLS FOR DATA COLLECTION A 15 numbered questionnaire based on effectiveness of training is prepared.

METHODS OF DATA COLLECTION Primary data as well as secondary data is used for the research study. Primary Data is collected through the Questionnaire and through the interactions with the Head of the Departments and Team members. Secondary Data is collected through previous records, Newspapers, Business Magazines and Internet.

ROUTINE WORKS Introduction about the organisation and Departmental functions  Assisted HR department in financial approvals. Checking Attendance entry of employees. Entering the casual leaves, Sick leaves into the database (as per the data given from the  department).

Involved in Induction training -Introduced interns to different departmental training in the organization. Involved in Performance Appraisals. Involved in preparing the Training Schedule. Involved in Evaluation of training.

Involved in identification of individuals for Retraining. Involved in Competency mapping. Training need identification through interactions and exams. Involved in preparation of skill Matrix. Worked on communication channels for employees. -Notice boards
