NAMING OF THE KALPA Based on the name of the first ingredient

PRAMAANAS Druvaya-maan Jala = 25 litres ( dvaya drona ) Pautava-maan Guda = 4670 grams ( tula ) Madhu = 2335 grams ( tula-ardham ) Draksha = 940 grams ( vimshati pala ) Dhataki pushpa = 750 grams ( shodash pala ) Prakshepa dravyas = each 46 grams ( 1 pala ) Kaal-maan 1 maasam

SAMBHARA Preparation of the mrutikka patra An earthen vessel of approx 40-50 litre capacity is selected it is filled with water till its rim and this water is kept overnight in it and discarded in the next morning. The vessel is cleaned by rubbing it with husk and thoroughly cleansed 2-3 times with water. It is placed in a clean room devoid of wind. It is placed amidst the heap of husk. After adding all the ingredients it is closed with an earthen sharava and sealed with kapada-mrutika . (1)

METHOD OF PREPARATION 25 Litres of jala is added to the earthen vessel. Guda and madhu is added to water. Draksha is pounded and added. Sun dried Dhataki pushpa is added without pounding it. All the prakshep dravyas are made into yavakutta churna form mixed priorly and then added. All ingredients are mixed thoroughly. The earthen vessel is sealed and left undisturbed for a period of 1 month. The liquid thus obtained is strained and again placed in the earthen vessel for a period of 10 days during which the thicker layer and sediments settle down. The upper layers are collected and packed in glass bottles with appropriate labeling. (1)
