AGILE AND SCRUM PLANNING
For the purpose of our project which works in agile we can use ASANA so that we can
remove the duplication of work. From the step of creating project roadmap, sprint
planning to sprint retrospective and standups can all be handled on ASANA.
Agile practices emphasize choosing flexible processes that can adapt to your team’s
needs each sprint. Asana is great for Agile teams precisely because it is so flexible
and has many ways for your team to incorporate Agile practices, even as
theychange.

TIME COSTING
Calculate time devoted to sprint tasks by putting costs in square brackets at the start
of a task name. First, turn on the Add up Numbers in Brackets hack inMy Profile
Settings, under theHackstab. To see the time totals,multi-selecttasks whose names
start with a number in [brackets], and you will see the sum in the rightpane.
You can also set up aHarvest integrationto see how your time estimates compare to
actual time spent. Forecast time more accurately and know the average time spent on
tasks you do frequently for futureplanning.

SPRINTRETROSPECTIVES
During sprint retrospectives, your team reflects back on the sprint and how to improve
processes for the future. Pull up your sprint planning project in Asana during a
retrospective to look atProgress View, add notes orcommentson remaining tasks,
orstart an actionable conversationaround ways you can improve processes for the
nextsprint.

STAND-UPMEETINGS
Use different List View options inMy Tasksto help you prepare for stand-up
meetings. You canchange the List View optiontoTasks By Due Dateto see what
you’re working on next, and toCompleted Tasksto see what you accomplished.
Tracking work, communicating, and giving status updates in Asana helps make stand-
ups more efficient—you might even find that your team needs to have them
lessfrequently.

STATUSUPDATES
Use theProgress Viewin a project to post weekly status updates so stakeholders
(a.k.a. “chickens”) are up-to-date during a sprint. Your team cancomment on the
status updateto keep the conversation going outside of meetings. This frees up time
spent in sprint planning, review, and retrospectives so you can strategize with your
teaminstead.
Make sure to look at the progress chart to see how many tasks have been completed
on the project and how many remain, relative to the project deadline. The project
deadline could be a ship date or the end of asprint.
For an even more in-depth view of team progress, tryDashboard reporting in
Google Sheetsto see tasks completed by person, compare the progress of similar
projects, andmore.

DASHBOARD REPORTING
Dashboardsprovide managers, team leads, and cross-functional contributors with the
high-level view of projects they need. When you’re handling many projects,
understanding how well they’re going can be a challenge. With Dashboard reporting
in Google Sheets, you can use project data to create custom reports and
visualizations to see what’s on track and what needsattention.
