Courage Confidence Presence
Courage is the ability to take
action despite fear.
Confidence is
built through
the experience
of taking action
and pushing
yourself outside
of your comfort
zone.
High levels of confidence
without arrogance create
presence.
•How you feel about yourself
•How you feel about others
•How you feel about the world
Not only about:
•Your skills
•Your job
•Your financial success
•Your status
When figuring out what the world needs
in the context of Ikigai, you can consider:
1.What inspires you and what makes you
frustrated or annoyed?
2.What you care about:What issues in your
organisation, community or the world touch
you emotionally?
3.What you can do:What problems in your
society would you like to help solve? How
could you be more involved in your
community?
4.What you're good at:What are your
strengths and skills? What do people ask you
to help them with?
5.What you love:What did you enjoy doing as a
child or in your early adult years? What do you
do now in your spare time that makes you
happy?
Debrief:
1.How was the exercise for
you?
2.What are you taking away
from the exercise?
3.What is the next step for

on a limb.
What could a
courageous life and
career look like for
YOU?
Don’t chase someone
else’s version of
success.
Take some time out (1 – 2 hours) to
create your idealistic/dream vision
for your future.
Aim to take a small baby step action
on it every day. Review your
progress and celebrate your small
successes.
Review your vision every day.
Imagine the “pain” of it not
happening and the joy of it
happening.
