2. Target audience My target audience for this project is 16–25-year-olds, since this age group is younger what I make has to be within their interests and something that will bring them enjoyment and entertainment. I will do this by using a survey to find out things about my audience which will help me create an audience profile

3. Audience survey The first question I asked was regarding age, I wanted to know the rough age of my audience to know weather or not I should lean towards the older (21-25) part of my audience or my younger (16-20) side of my audience As you can see my audiences age lies within 16-17 with a little bit of 28 and above. This means I should focus towards my younger side of my audience in my film

4. The next question I asked was what genre of film they enjoyed watching the most, I asked this because I want to make a short film so I need to know what genre would my audience would enjoy watching so I could make my film that genre therefore making it a better film in their eyes. Overall, the most popular genre was horror which I am very happy about as I wanted to make a horror film, there was some other popular genres of action and comedy however horror was clearly the most popular.

5. The next thing I asked is if they watched short films and documentaries, I asked this within 2 questions to get an idea if they watch one or the other. As you can see, more people watch short films than they do documentaries, so I picked the right choice to make a short film as my audience prefers them

6. I next asked what they like about short films, I asked this because I want to make the film to their taste and I want to put in things they specifically enjoy about short films to make sure they will actually enjoy watching the film. As you can see a lot of people prefer a short film that’s not too long so im looking to keep mine around 15 minutes and they like the creativity that’s in them so I should try and dos something unique and different

7. Finally, I asked them what they didn’t want to see in short films, this way I could avoid those things and overall make a better film that my audience will enjoy better As you can see, similar complaints with length people don’t like when short films are too long however one person did say they didn’t want to see bad writing so I will make sure to put a bit more time and effort into the scripts
