AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEM

Automotive system Subdisciplines : Safety Performance Types of automotive system content :

Automotive system is about the design manufacturing and operation of cars , motorcycles, trucks and other automobiles there are lot of subdisciplines within automotive system and there are many things you work on when it comes to an automobile. Automotive can be anything moving on the wheels but automobiles generally refers to car, i think the four wheeler. "Automobile" literally Means something that can move itself. Automotive refers to anything Related to an Automobile. WHAT IS AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEM

Safety: Work on the safety aspect and assessing various crash scenarious whether it be on the computer to doing actual crash testing cars needing to meet certain standard to protect the driver and passengers. The frame of the car would have to be designed properly such that energy from a crash is absorbed or moved away from the driver. SUBDISCIPLINES ;

Performance: There's performance and analyzing how fast the car can accelerate how quickly you can come to a complete stop which of course is important and more. How quickly can it come to a complete stop : Vehicle dynamics; -braking , handlings , steering, etc.

Fuel and air system: It is designed to supply the correct amount of fuel mixed with correct amount of air to the cylinder of the engine. Stores the fuel of later use. Delivers fuel to a device that controls the amounts of fuel going to the engines. Collects and cleans the outside air. Delivers outside air to the individual cylinder. Changes the fuel and air ratio to meet the needs of the engines during Different operating speed and condition. TYPES OF AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEM:

Exhaust system: Direct toxic exhaust fumes away from the passengers compartments. Quiet the sound exhaust pulses. To burn or catalytes polutants in the exhausts.

EMMISION CONTROL SYSTEM; Positive crankcase ventilation system: reduces hydrocarbon emission and prevents the pressurised the vapour for escaping the engines and cutering the atmosphere. Evaporative emission control system: it dranles the fuel vapour from the fuel system. Exhaust gas recirculation system: this system introduces exhaust gases into the intake air reducing the chances of forming NOx during combustion. Air injection system: to introduce fresh air into the exhaust stream to cause minor combustion of the hydrocarbon in the engines exhausts.

Heating system; The main component of an automotive heating system are the heater core, the heater control value the blower motor the fan and the heater and defroster ducks. The heating system works with the cooling system and converts the heats from the coolent circulating inside the engine to hotair which is blown into the Passengers compartment heater pipe transfer the hot coolent from the engine to the heater control valve and then to the heater core in it.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: A AC system is designed to remove heat from the passenger compartment and move to outside of the vehicle. The substance used to remove the heat from inside of the vehicles of is called the refrigerant by changing the pressure of refrigerant by changing the pressure of refrigerant to absorb heat the temperature and pressure of refrigerant are kept low.

The most common ways to coolent and engine is to circulate a liquid coolent the passage in the engine block cylinder head. A typical coolent realise on a water pump circulate the coolent through the system. The pump typically driven by the engine the coolent is the mixture of water and anti-freeze. Now this heat picked up by the coolent is send to the radiator which transfer the coolent heat outside the air as the coolent flow through the tubes. COOLING SYSTEM:

LUBRICATION SYSTEM: Motor or engine oil is the fluid used to lubricate the engine. The oil store in the oil pan bolted to the bottom the oil pan is also called the crank case or oil sump. When the engine is running and oil pump draws the oil from the Oil sump and forces it through the oil galleries. Oil from the pan passes through an oil filter before moving through the engine the filter removes dirt and metal particles from the oil.

CHARGING AND STARTING SYSTEM: The vehicles starting and charging system cranks the engine for starting charges the vehicles battery and provides the electrical power for engines controls lights and eccessories key components of the starting and charging system includes the battery which stores the electrical energy the starter motor which cranks the engine the alternator which charges the battery and power the vehicle electrical system and battery cables to connects the battery mal- functions can cause abnormal noises dim lights discharged battery no crank Condition and may illuminate the battery the lamps .
