The internal organs and contents gave the characteristic GARLIC LIKE ODOUR
thorax/Chest Ribs and chest wall : no haemorrhages of the skin or subcutaneous tissues over the chest , fracture of 4 th ,5 th ,6 th & 7 th ribs Aorta : no atheromatous plaques or aneurysms encountered Esophagus : intact, mucosa unremarkable Trachea & bronchi : free from extraneous materials
THORAX/CHEST LUNGS : Cut open from large to small airways from medial to lateral including all the lobes and segments opening along the branches as they are encountered and examining the parenchyma After this horizontal slicing through each lobe with a brain knife to inspect the rest of parenchyma
Lungs : reddish purple in color ,voluminous, heavy, firm,pleural surfaces are smooth and glistening, no thombus , emboli or any mucoid impaction Heart: appears of normal size ,weight and configuration,cardiac chambers – contain only PM clot & fluid blood,myocardium – homogenously fibrillar & free from focal lesions , valves&chordae tendinae –intact & normally formed
ABDOMEN & pelvis Peritoneal and pelvic cavity : not examined Stomach and content : gastric mucosa appears hyperemic ,& congested with reddish erosive lesions seen Intestines : not examined Kidneys : have smooth surfaces beneath easily stripped capsules. The corticomedullary junctions are intact and distinct. No calculi and inflammatory changes seen
