Learning Objectives To understand the characteristic curve of axial fan by performing experiment of changing fan speed & throttle valve with Efficiency, hydraulic power, electric power . Identifying characteristic data. Investigation of typical dependencies (pressure increase and the suction volume flow dependent on the speed).
Opening the software: Open the applications HM282 software of axial fan and also IP camera viewer which shows the live streaming of equipment.
This is the console or software interface of the machine used to run the machine. These are two views of machines to experience the live performance. Interface of the software:
Experiment-1 Effect of variable fan speed at constant throttle cross-section on efficiency of fan Range of fan speed: 30 to 100 % Throttle valve: Any one value between 0 (fully close) to 2.5 (fully open) marking- manually
Experiment-1: Before starting the experiment, click on TARA option for making the initial values zero. Range of fan speed is 30 to 100%. Give fan speed as 30%(say) initially. Click on start and select measurement diagram and the main console is called as system diagram.
Click on file and enable the New series for the measured values and give the experiment name as shown below and click ok( tick mark). Constant throttle valve with varying fan speed
Constant throttle valve with varying fan speed These are measuring parameters (marked) on the graph. Fan speed have to vary with 30 % to 100% with 10 as interval. After giving the fan speed, click on set. Then machine will run. Once the value get stabilized, click on take record button on top to save the obtained parameter. Repeat the steps for different measuring points as 30..40..to 100%.
Constant throttle valve with varying fan speed Meaningful characteristics are often obtained with set of measurement points as mentioned. After completion of experiment, have to save the series. Click on file and save the data on desktop. The saved data can be seen in Notepad. The measured values are also obtained in tabular form. Click on view and select the TABLE.
Constant throttle valve with varying fan speed Can also change the axis of the graph according to our requirements. Click on view and select choose axis. The measured values are also obtained in tabular form. Click on view and select the TABLE. Take the snapshots of graphs obtained. Save the data and graphs obtained to your pc from remote desktop.
Experiment-2 Effect of variable throttle cross-section at constant fan speed on efficiency of fan Throttle valve: gradually from 0 (fully close) to 2.5 (fully open) markings-manually Range of fan speed: Any one value between 30 to 100 %
Experiment-2: Repeat the first step, before starting the experiment, click on TARA option for making the initial values zero. Range of fan speed: can select any value between 30 to 100%. Select one constant (fixed) value. Click on start and select measurement diagram.
Constant fan speed with varying throttle position Click on file and delete previous saved series and enable new file (new series) for second experiment. Save the second experiment(series) as name required and click ok.
Constant fan speed with varying throttle position The throttle valve can vary positions from 0 (fully closed) to 2.5 ( fully open). It can also go beyond say 3,4…..9; just repeats the values. The changing of throttle position must be done manually by instructor. The adjusting of throttle valve can be done with interval of 0.5 Meaningful characteristics are obtained with different positions of valve. After each adjustment of changing valve, click on record button to capture the data. Take snapshot of the obtained graph.
Constant fan speed with varying throttle position Can also change the axis of the graph according to our requirements. Click on view and select choose axis. The measured values are also obtained in tabular form. Click on view and select the TABLE . Save the data and graphs obtained to your pc from remote desktop . The data can also be saved on pc and open with Notepad.
