1. Measures of prevention at portal of entry, Utilisation of Mucosal route a. Nasal application – apply sesame oil / coconut oil or ghee (clarified butter) twice a day b. Oil pulling – rinsing the mouth with oil for 2–3 min and then spitting it out c. Steam inhalation with mint leaves or caraway seeds 2. Measures to prevent Mental stressors :(Physical & Mental) Practice of Yoga , Pranayama, Meditation 3.Measures to Maintain GUT-LUNG Axis Homeostasis : Drink warm water throughout the day Use of spices like – turmeric, coriander, cumin, garlic; Herbal tea made from tulsi (basil), cinnamon, black pepper, ginger, raisins; “Golden milk: (warm milk with turmeric) once or twice a day; Use of clove powder mixed with honey or sugar for throat irritation or cough 4. Ministry of Ayush has also operationalized a dedicated community support helpline (toll-free number 14443) to provide Ayush -based approaches and solutions for the challenges raised by Covid-19. The helpline is operational pan-India from 6 am to 12 midnight-all seven days of a week. The experts provide counselling and feasible remedies to the patients and also guide them about the availability of nearby Ayush facilities.
