Mechanism of Action
Oxymetazoline acts on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the
arterioles of the nasal mucosa. In nasal, it produces
constriction, resulting in decreased blood flow and
decreased nasal congestion.

Indications
It is indicated for relief of nasal congestion associated with
acute & chronic rhinitis, common cold, sinusitis and hay fever
or other allergies. It is also used decongestant in otitis media.

Dosage And Administration
Adult & Children 6 years of age: 2 to 3 drops of
Azolin 0.05% Nasal Drops in each nostril twice daily
in the morning and evening.
Children 2-5 years of age: 2 to 3 drops of Azolin
0.025% Nasal Paediatric Drops in each nostril twice
daily in the morning & evening.

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation
Pregnancy
Safe use of Oxymetazoline during pregnancy has not been
established. Pregnant women should avoid it.
Lactation
It sis not known whether Oxymetazoline is secreted in human
breast milk. So, caution should be exercise when
administrating to a nursing mother.

Use In Children
This drug is not recommended under the age of 2 years.
