In this shot, we have a wide close up of our main character, its set like this to show a sort of loneliness that she has because it's just her in the frame mainly, she has no one to talking to or going to talk to her. Furthermore, you can see in her face and her eyes an exhaustion / sad expression further showing us her loneliness in this frame and later into the short film also the dark dingy atmosphere gives her more of an isolated feel.  Furthermore, the back-round is out of focus as well as the people, potentially to represent that the reason they are excluded is because she's in her own mind, in her own imagination, her own world representing that she's deep in thought instead of being lonely. With the interpretation of her being exhausted she could be in a trance like everyone else, in their own world doing their own things and being lonely at all, just tired (reason for being tired and exhausted is because of work or an event and then finally coming home but on transport like a bus)

In these two frames, we have both a medium close up and a wide shot, in both are showing how people react to getting on the bus and showing us how impatient people are / can be. In frame 1, it's not possible to tell however, in the full short-film you see that in this frame, shes being overwhelmed with the amount of people pushing through to get on the bus, it shows that they are all inpatient and wanting a space on the bus, although it’s a public place that a lot of people get on, a lot of people are greedy and want to beat people to seats and not be considerate towards their surroundings, or even just to secure a spot on the bus. This could just show and represent how people are so engulphed into their own worlds that they become self-centered especially late at night when this is set, when people are most tired, so it -  makes sense, as most of us would do. However, there is an alternative thought that she's in her own old and making up scenarios in her head, that for a sort of action or entertainment in her life, she's made-up people rummaging Infront of her to get on the bus, just to add a sort of entertainment into her journeys or how she's seen some people get treat from the third person and imagined it and made it happen to see what it feels like or could feel like. In frame 2 you see our protagonist stunned as to what she's witnessed / let happen / imagined, from the wide shot we have, we see that she's left in disbelief that it's happened, that she's not even being treat with respect, or like a person merely just someone smaller than them just passing through her. Furthermore, it's not like she's getting treat different for being a woman, because they're in also a woman who's by passed her too. However, the alternative thought that it could be that everyone has gotten the bus already and looked in disbelief because no one has asked or offered her to go in front of them, just to further want some sort of action into her life, because she could be bored or feel like she's living life on a repeated basis and wants to have some sort of dramatic difference to occur in her life. Furthermore, in these scenes we also feel a sort of confusion and sympathy for her for the scenario she's just had occur.

After we see our protagonist use a bus card to get on the bus, we then have a  sequence  of frames where she has begun to find an interest in our second main character of this bus journey. We see that it's an interest through her body language and how she looks towards the man, we also feel a sort of warmth feeling for her as we the viewer has potentially experienced something like this, looking at someone you are attracted too, so this feeling we feel is somewhat familiar with us and we understand as people, these feelings. Furthermore, the camera angles we are given add to these further feelings we feel, the angles are over the shoulder mixed with medium close-up shots this helps us feel a connection to the people in the scene because we are in a personal space and a personal experience, and the angles are dragging us in towards it for us to experience it which gets us glued because it’s a unique experience. Furthermore, you can see that the connection between the two is a personal connection because only them tow people are in focus out of the whole of the people on the bus, you can see in the scenes that everyone in the background except our protagonists interest is blurred, showing a deeper focus on him and for us as the viewer

In scene 1 we are shown her about to put her headphones, however, before that was to happen, we are given a diegetic sound, just sounds of the bus and just the atmosphere of the area but as soon as she is to put on the headphones we transition to non-diegetic however, it slowly builds up until she fully puts them on as if we apart of the protagonists' ears and the sound we hear is the music she's listening to. In the second frame its fully over her ears so we are fully apart of her perspective and hearing but as we can see she's not looking towards our second protagonist she's fully inspecting everyone on the bus, showing that everyone else is in their own world and bubble. Furthermore, with the music we the viewer begin to feel joyful because the music is a smoothing song not any sort of metal or fast paced song, it’s a peaceful one giving us a thought that everything is going to be relaxing on this bus ride. After scene 2 we are shown everyone, she looking at showing they’ve got their own stories and on their own journeys just showing how ordinary she is as well as everyone else and that she's not special furthermore, from the looks of things she also thinks these people don’t give of any sort of scary atmosphere, they are just all normal. However, all these people have one thing in common, is that they are all tired from scene 3 to 5 you can see that they are all relaxed to also falling into a stare, a state of just being lost in their own mind and then even falling asleep.

Now that us the viewer have been given a peaceful overview of the bus, passing from person to person we are then met with a change of pace, we'd been given this peaceful music to make us think that nothing will or can go wrong but gets used against us as we begin to feel comfortable , it takes that away from you within seconds showing that if a situation was to happen like this on a bus we wouldn’t really have much time to react because we'd be so caught up with how peaceful it is something like getting shot wouldn’t even pass your train of thought.  What the creator has done here is a unique way to catch the viewer of guard as you wouldn’t expect this to happen, to manipulate us into watching someone peacefully view people on a bus to then suddenly tragic things occur within seconds, this skyrockets the audience emotions in seconds as well as our thoughts, to really get you attached for the reason of that is most things are predictable and boring which tend to make the viewers mind wondering and it not being thoughts of the video it would be due to a lack of entertainment or good story telling in which this has done well

In frame 1 there was a shift in the music, from a peaceful music a perfect shift into a western music, as he's pulling the gun out and shooting the woman in the side of the head. I personally think that for this part in the short-film that this is up to your interpretation to why she's thought this, however, I have a few. 1: the reason is because of her being potentially tired and when the brain is tired it can produce some bizarre scenarios  that are not likely to take place, as what has taken place furthermore, it could also be due to her watching a western film and since that is fresh in her mind that is what is on her mind currently (a movie).  2: is that the music she is listening to is exactly what we hear, that western transition is in the song and then with that buildup of the song she's just made a fake event just happen in her head, as they would do in movies like a horror a music would build up then the main villans theme song would start to play as they are in the scene.  3: That both statements iv announced are all together into one whole scenario, she's thought of them things because both statements 1) and 2) are the actual reason but I do also believe it's for you to also think of your own reason as it could be anything, like she could be a  psychopath but watching it from a different perspective or that she has intense intrusive thoughts  They also use the close-up perfect as it gets both the woman into frame as well as the gun, which is a perfect way to see a person's reactions and facial features however, an indications that this is all a part of our protagonist mind is that the woman held at gun point has no expression at all as if weren't there just as it isn't unless the woman was just to accept her impending doom.

We then soon after find out that it was fake, as the expression on her face is left stunned by what's happened, she then turns her head looking away in a calm manor further showing us that this is fake because I think an ordinary reaction would be fight or flight, furthermore, she then has a small smile on her face looking back which could be signifying to us that even the most ordinary people have dark thoughts or she's just happy that it was not something that actually happened and that the woman is alive. We are also shown that these people she's seen are also completely ordinary, in their own train of thought. However, the reason our main character could have had this thought is that the man with the new-paper is the only character that has a newspaper, also in today's its looked as an alien act, because people are so glued to their phones and when they can get off them and see people have a newspaper, they possibly see them as suspicious because everything's on the internet and she's chosen him to be this villain that even she has had no interaction with him. Furthermore, it could be because he looks suspicious as he's only just standing, he also has a sinister look but that could also be the clothes he wears which would be Mise- en -scene.

telling us in a distinct way that her extreme life taking illusions are now stopping as she's being brought closer to her interest also known as our second protagonist. The creator has been creative with something so simple to bring both of them together, by adding more people into the bus making it crapped to begin a spark between them. We see that the bus is getting- In the next scenes we are given it does an extreme close up of the stop bottom being pressed so more people can come onto the bus as well as - more and more packed by the people's feet coming aboard shown in scene 2 as well as scene 3 because people are shoving and moving for more comfortable space which leads them together which is shown in scene 4 and 5. this has been done to further tell a story and what's great is that no bus journey is scripted, anything can happen the same as a car ride which the creator has considered to make scenes 6 through 9 happen. After we get a second look at our second protagonist we see him get thrown forward because of the bus jerking showing that he's not just done out of impulse actions he's had no control over it and been thrown forward touching our main characters hand which is shown is scene 8 to start what could be shown as a blessing for both of them, a nice interaction and we are shown that in scene 9 she is doesn’t mind and is clearly happy that this has happened as she has an interest In him.  However, there is a butterfly affect (something small that does or doesn’t happen that has a huge impact later in life like something as simple of walking into puddle) in which if he had held hold of the handles for support on the bus this interaction would never have taken place, and they probably wouldn’t have taken place. Furthermore, there is just diegetic sound consistently since the main characters illusion, so even though what has occurred is somewhat romantic there is just natural noise, no music to manipulate our thoughts so we could be currently in the perspective of the man, since he has not got headphones on and we just hear what he hears.

In these handful of scenes, we are given many different emotions throughout these interactions from 1 and 2 we are shown her being nervous and hesitant of what she wants to do potentially because of the fear being rejected. However, from 3 to 6 we are shown her consistency of her giving a hint to him that she likes him but avoids giving any sort eye contact acting childish and innocent as if she's doing nothing wrong and only trying to see if he also has interest in her (it could also be her looking around see he can see what she actually looks like instead of from the side.) From the scenes 7 to 9 we are shown that the man is entertained by her behavior as we can see in scene 7, he's smirking - Which shows he now understands what she's doing and in 8 she's looking beyond him either knowing that he understands or just a last effort to hope he understands but shown in scene 9 we see that he now understands what she's doing and then does it back to her and now showing they, both understand and are interested in one another.  However, we are in the final stages of being in the man's perspective, scenes 1 to 9 is are the parts we just hear diegetic noise, because beyond that we start to hear a light tone of music and from how the short-film has been shown the music comes from the woman with the headphones and only her and the man does not have any headphones or earphones. Furthermore, the angles that are used are perfect, they capture the face of our characters grabbing their emotions and planting it fright Infront of us, it’s a mix of median-close-ups and close ups, these not only have been used to capture their emotions but make us feel them as we are watching them, maybe it being frustration that he doesn’t understand right away or we feel happy for her that he's finally done it back or to even show us a message of even it feels scary or you can get rejected try it and see what happens because we see at the start he isn't interested in her, doesn’t even know she's there but she notices him right away on the bus.

Now from these new scenes we've been given we are now placed in the girl's perspective, the reason we now know we are in her perspective is because of the non-diegetic sound, we now hear music a light chime sort of music, what people would normally associate with romance . This because now that they each other interested its gives us a release of tension as we now know they both are aware of each other's interest, we see this in their smiles showing that they are happy, then soon after becoming aware they start to hold hands making the sound more bold showing how in our face it is now, from a light build up to now it being at its climax, the music is at its boldest we are also shown their smiles again potentially showing us that any sort romance doesn’t need to be intense it can just be small as much as holding each other's hands telling us we shouldn’t expect big things to have an impact and just focus on the small things as they can give the biggest feelings. Furthermore, in scene 3 we are shown a lens-flare in which this would be impossible to happen where they on the bus and in the dark as the sun and more dominant light is needed for that. This has been done on purpose to show a romantic act has happened, also showing us that they are happy, we associate these lens-flares with happiness due to movies giving them to us in happy movies and because the of the sun in which the sun creates these

Scenes 1 through 7 have now diegetic sound, it's just stopped but not just for any reason mainly due to their interaction being broken by passages, in them moments as well as the viewer we tend to get caught up in them moments as if the world just revolves sound them and that’s all we are focused on, so that happening with them being split up is giving us a reality check that they are also in a public space which in my opinion is a perfect way to do what's been done to add more drama to the short-film We also feel for the characters as this is left to us that this could be their last possible interaction and its shown in their expressions of shock, sadness but also comfort as that they are happy that the interaction has taken place, we also feel this because of the camera angles with them being shot as perspective-shots, median close-ups and over the shoulder shots, these will make us feel as if we are a part of this love interaction, the tension and the sadness because these have been the main part of the story and finally coming together to have the smallest time together to them be split up forever, this could also be a message to take chances and opportunities when they are at hand instead of freezing in place and doing nothing because it could have the biggest impact of your life.

In the final scenes that are shown here, from 1 all through 9 there is a non-diegetic sound that is upbeat representing happiness in a funky tone, like a musical with bizarre interments like maracas, this music is done in a sense of a final time, that we will not see any of these people again.  However, instead of an interaction happening with her, we are shown an illusion that she has with the people dancing to her song in synced way. This could also be represented in a way that-  everyone on the bus moves in a similar way, as when the bus moves left, or right people move too and it's not just one person its everyone so it could be seen as a buses rhythm it has with everyone and it can't really be stopped which is why she sees people dancing as it's manipulated her mind into them dancing to her song.  Finally, it cuts to her face from smiling to her resting face and turning away and looking back and just seeing everyone sitting like everyone else would showing that it’s a made up  sicario  she's made.

As a whole I enjoyed writing about this, but I have some thoughts I didn’t write into the scenes, I believe that she could have a mental illness, although its farfetched it's just an idea, I believe she could have  schizophrenia because she makes or has these illusions of people doing things, so all of what happens to her could be a dive into what it's like to make fake people up and have interactions, this could be argued against because even though we see the whole movie from her perspective we do get an Insite of the man's perspective but that could just be her giving us a perspective of one of the people she makes up. Furthermore, it could also be considered that all the people on bus and before was just a whole figment of her imagination.  Codes and Conventions: There is a title at the start in which being called "CONNECT" There's a different types of non-diegetic sound such as an upbeat / joyful mixed with western, happy cheerful music and calming happy / cheerful sound The protagonist is the woman we meet who's the main focus at the beginning There is no antagonist  The three parts of Start – Middle – End are start being when we are first introduced to her, middle when the woman gets shot in the back of the head in her illusion and the end being after the people are having a dance to the music the protagonists listening to  Final overhaul , from doing this short film I've learnt how a creator can leave someone with questions or their own theories on the movie as making us ask questions about the film, like "why" and "how" furthermore, it's helped me dive more into detail with description and break scenes down, as a whole I've enjoyed doing this short film and helped me analyze more.

2) Media Example:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDqxBGL738U

In the scenes here they are separate because the pairs contain differences to each other so, in scenes 1 and 2 the lights are on however, there is earey non-diegetic sound, as if even though the lights are on which would represent safety there is an unsafe feeling, we immediately feel for her. Further so, the camera angles is what assists in making us feel unsafe is because it’s a long-shot and we are watching her from afar like stalker and with her being by herself adds to it. Finally, because of this long shot it makes her look small compared to these buildings, which could just be a way to show even in a big building with lights on you don’t always feel safe. However, in scenes 3 we watch her turn the lights off and immediately the non-diegetic sound turns into diegetic sound, just sounds of cars and the late-night wind with its  ambiance and just hearing her walking around which also adds onto that fear aspect that we felt when the music was playing, to truly show how alone she actually is and as the viewer we feel a discomfort for her and naturally the human mind/body likes to be comfortable and just seeing this and thinking of the potential of what could happen makes it creepy. Scene 4 we are brought back into light as she's leaving the building but now, we see her up close which now you could think we feel safer for her, as we are no longer watching her from a far, we are slowly being put in her perspective, in which could be argued that in scenes 1,2 and 3 the feeling of loneliness is how the protagonist feels (being in her perspective)

Here she's just left the building but in the end of the film, we find out that she is presumed to get abducted or killed, however, in this scene we hear a clock dinging which could be represented as how long left this woman has to live or to end up at her impending doom. Hearing the clock naturally in a time like this, we now know or assume that its 12 O clock late at night, and hearing the clock gives us this strange feeling as in the night and hearing that, we associate it with horror because it’s a some-what scary thing to hear. Furthermore, the camera angles used is a median shot but not only that it's also a tracking dolly cam following her from behind which could express the feeling to us that she's being followed from behind or stalked as at late nights people tend to go after women who are alone because they are assumed to be easy targets. This could be sending a message that if there are stalkers out there make sure to have someone with you or try to be in an open area so you can see more so it's less likely to happen and so you can feel more safe.

In scenes 1 and 2 we hear a mix both diegetic and non-diegetic sound being mixed with one another, which creates an un-natural but interesting sound, it sounds sort of chilling as we are also introduced to a group of men, and automatically we feel a sort of tension because an alone woman at night and 4 men wed automatically think of potential threats, but we find that she attempts to ignore to avoid the men by putting an earphone in.  We move onto scene 3 where the natural sounds and music fade out into full non-diegetic, we don’t hear the music she listens to, but we hear a tense sort of music as she put it's in to suggest to us that the men are going to do something, we also think this because of the close up we have of her grabbing her emotions, through her eyes we see that she is afraid but is alert which could be telling us somethings going to happen.  Scenes 4 the music stops building up as her keys have just been knocked to the floor as she's bumped shoulders with one of the men who were walking past her and we hear the noise of the wind but as if it was humming loud, this is also a good way to introduce something scary as on the floor wed only see the floor and can leave anything to happen when she gets back up.  Scene 5 re-ignites that tense build up but to the peak as we see this man who is unrecognizable which could leave you the viewer with a shock.  Scenes 6 and 7 the music sort of pulses with tense to low tune back to a high tune, we also see fear in her eyes and actions but as we see her struggle and come back to looking up, we get a wide shot of her perspective, that she's all alone. As of now we don’t currently know of the situation but on the radio we find at the end, we hear stay safe which indicates that there is a stalker and or killer who they don’t know the identity of and she looks at the bundle of men with fear because it's could be anyone, as they don’t have a face to this person they are looking for furthermore, we see that fear she has builds this person in her mind that she sees who is dressed in black which shows we also don’t know who it is, leaving him a mystery and she fears the fact that he could be after her and has the fear of death as everyone does and not knowing who it is makes it so that she can't run away from him

Scenes 1 to 3 the tense music begins again as the lift chimes to show that she's on the right floor, and they use a tracking dolly shot to follow her as she paces towards the car as we have the tense music building up more and more, then we have in scene 3 a view of inside the car watching her come in, as we don’t know yet but find out, this perspective could be somewhat a perspective of the stalker and or killer, watching her get into the car and it be a coincidence that he's in her car as she's had these panic- ful illusions of the man Infront of her. Scene 4 and 5 the music stops and is muffled, and we are in the perspective of the woman again, hearing everything she does, and it also gives us a relief that she's supposedly now safe in the car furthermore, she takes her earphones out and everything is no longer muffled we everything clear, juts pure natural sound. Scene 6 we share this breather with her as she's had this burden and fear on her shoulders of being stalked and now finally safe in her car. Scenes 7 and 8 we see her turn the car or for her to leave, and finally go home but as soon as the car turns on, we hear "thank you for listening, have a safe drive home" which then counter acts and the killer wraps their hands on her face further showing in her car she was not safe, and the radio was basically like a comedic piece that she's not safe what's so ever

Codes and conventions: There is a title page however, at the end of the movie Plenty of non-diegetic sound and diegetic sound  There was a protagonist  There was a villain There was a start-middle-end. Start was when we see the woman in the shop, middle was the first interaction with the stalker illusion and end was when she was abducted  I did enjoy also looking into this piece of short-film, it also has a good part of the fear aspect by being a silent film like the first one, which is interesting, maybe you could even argue they can't talk, I've enjoyed it because it’s a horror short film, and one I've enjoyed doing, it's also helped me think of more things to dive into deeper detail, for example when hearing a clock made think it's also nighttime so it music be 12O clock and the more I wrote the more ideas came.

3) Media example:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7OQHIpDlvA

In these scenes we are already greeted with our protagonist, who's talking about the pandemic COVID-19 which was a when we all needed to stay in door for almost a year, we know this because in frames 1 and 2 he's talking about the pandemic and how he must wait 2 more months to see his supposed friend furthermore, there is no non-diegetic sound, it's just the sound of the microwave while we waits for his food. Scenes 3 shows that he's growing in patient for the food, or he's lost in thought as he's blankly staring into the table which did take a toll on everyone, a lot of people forgot how to socialize and made their mental health worse We then see in these scenes we've been show that he begins to look at the clock to either see how long till his foods done or to check what time it is and in doing so, we see in scene 5 that the clock isn't moving, its going forth and back, constantly as if time as frozen and not moving, this could be a message to how most people felt during the pandemic, that time just slowed, couldn’t do anything or go anywhere and just had to stay indoors and then we see his face in confusion and maybe frustration that his clock has just broken as it would take a while for a new one to come because post was considered risky. These angles that are used are high angle, making him seem bigger showing and expressing his feeling of frustration of the clock no longer working and growing inpatient of things not going the way he wants

In scenes 1 through 3 we hear the clock however, it sounds sort of altered as though it was like a timer be out on stage, like a performance, so then we see that he's no longer got any other emotion other than concentration as we see on the close up from him closing his eyes to vision himself doing something and then opens his eyes to then perform on the drums with his kitchen essentials, which in the case would have been the  Mise- en -scene , the tools in which he needed to be able to do this. We also get given a wide shot to fully see him in action the way he moves could also be that he's an actual drummer and tie-Ing back at the beginning that the person he's going to see is someone from his band and the concentration he has was him seeing if he still has the drumming skills and knowledge' furthermore, we see Freddie mercury on his TV in the background which could be a message to us that he now only loves music, but might have dreamed of having his own band and being the drummer or even be Freddie mercury drummer. More so we also hear actual drums being played but we are yet to find out if this is a memory or just all a part of his imagination.  We then get brought into his perspective, his imagination and or memory, to see what he sees, this could be taken into that it’s a big dream of his to become a drummer and he sees himself as the best, or that he's an actual drummer and because of the covid and he can't perform and is practicing in his mind and is also missing doing what he loves as he is the center of attention, he's under the spotlight. Finally in scene 6 we see that it was in his head and could be left for interpretation for us, to think if he's a real drummer or wanting to become one. The sound in scenes 4 and 5 will have been diegetic because he's playing the drums, not listening to them and then in scene 6 we are brought back to reality with the microwave buzzing snapping him out and it just all being back to the present.

Codes and conventions All sound was diegetic, no non-diegetic Protagonist  No villain 3-part narrative – start was the phone call with the microwave, middle was the noticing of the clock and end was as he finished playing the drums, he was brought back to the present with his food being finished. I enjoyed doing this one as I wanted to challenge myself and do a shorter film to see how much I could describe with not a lot to work with, it's helped me analyze scenes more and break them down
