4. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
In 1931,Mysore Maharaja was made the Bandipur
Natinal Park
In 1931,the total area was 90sqr kms. But now the
total area is 800sqr kms
The first name was VENUGOPALA WILDLIFE
PARK
The name BNP given by the Gopalswamy Betta,in
1973.

There are three rivers flow the near of
BNP,namely Moyar river,Kabini river and Nagur
river

Summer maximum temperature is 28 degree c
Best time for visit-June-September.When wild
life plenty and forest is green.

station would help to reach the BNP.
By Road-Bandipur is located at a distance of 220kms
from Banglore and 80kms from Mysore.Bandipur is
well connected by road and we get State Transport
buses,private buses, or even by taxies.
