Justifications for the Recommendation of the
Variety “18B003” (Barani Matar)
•1
st
pea variety for rainfed areas of Pothowar.
•This candidate line is attractive for consumers with maximum pod
length, good taste and sweet flavor.
•It is a rainfed advanced line as it showed better yield in low rainfall
areas with comparatively better protein content, Iron and Zinc.
•18B003 exhibited moderate resistance to Powdery mildew over the
check varieties; Supreme, Meteore and Fsd-09
•On an average of yield trials in different agro-climatic (2018-2022),
18B003 gave +28.3% higher pod yield than check variety Meteore.
