INTRODUCTION OF
COMPUTER
A computer is an electronic device that can accept,
store and process information to produce the
required result.”
Function: 1) Accept
2) store
3) Process
4) Retrieval
5) Result
Features: Speed, Accuracy, Storage, Diligence,
Versatility.
Limitation: No IQ, No Feeling, Can’t remove error,
can’t work without Human.

GENERATION OF COMPUTER
First Generation (1942 -1955)
These computer based on Vacuum Tube Technique.
Second Generation (1956 -1964)
These computer based on Transistor Technique.
Third Generation (1965 - 1975)
These computer based on IC Technique.
Forth Generation (1976 -1990)
These computer based on VLSI Technique.
 Fifth Generation (1990 - yet to come)
These computer based on AI.

CLASSIFICATION OF
COMPUTER
Based on Application:
1) Analog
2) Digital
3) Hybrid
Based on purpose:
1) General
2) Special
Based on size and capability:
1) Micro
2) Mini
3) Main frame
4) Super

BASED ON APPLICATION:
Analog computer: It worked on quantity in
a continuous signal form like Patrol pump,
weather forecasting, temperature etc.

DIGITAL COMPUTER
It works on 0 and 1.
It gives accurate result because this computer
uses digital signals.
Hybrid Computer: Combination of analog
and digital computer. It convert digital to analog
and vise versa.

BASED ON PURPOSE:
1) General Purpose:

2) Special Purpose:
