Understanding absolute, relative and mixed referencing in formulas

Absolute Referencing An absolute reference is designated in a formula by the addition of a dollar sign ($) before the column and row Y can use the F4 function key to switch between relative, absolute, and mixed references

Mixed Referencing $” sign is used for Absolute Referencing Which we want is fixed

referencing cells in other worksheets and workbooks, Click the cell where you want to enter the formula Type an equal sign (=) Type the name of the worksheet to be referenced, followed by an exclamation point (!) Select the cell or range of cells to be referenced Click on view Switch windows for other saved workbooks reference

Press F3, select the name to link to, and press Enter. Create a 3-D referenc e In the cell where you want the function, type an equal sign (=), then the name of the function, and an opening parenthesis. Click the tab for the first worksheet, then hold down Shift and click the tab for the last worksheet. Select the cells to reference, complete the formula, and press Enter. Use copy and paste link In the source file, highlight the cells to reference, right-click, and select "Copy". In the destination file, click the cell to add the reference to, right-click, and click the "Paste link" icon.
