1. BASIC TOOLS AND INSTRUMENTS IN ELECTRONICS (ELECTRONIC TOOLS AND INSTRUMENTS AND THEIR USES)

2. ALLEN WRENCH This is an L-shaped hexagonal steel bar either end of which fits the socket of a screw or bolt.

3. ARTIST’S CUTTER This is very sharp device used in cutting a phenolic board.

4. DESOLDERING TOOL This tool is used to remove soldering lead when a component is to be removed from the PCB.

5. MAGNIFYING GLASS This is a tool made of transparent plastic or glass with a metal frame, usually round in shape.

6. MINIDRILL This is a tool used for drilling small holes through printed circuit board.

7. NEEDLE FILES These are hand-cutting tools made of high carbon steel and having a series of teeth cut on a flat body face.

8. PAINT BRUSH This is a tool made of soft , hair like insulating materials used in cleaning components mounted on PCB.

9. PLIERS These are designed for gripping and holding small parts in electronics servicing, assembly and troubleshooting.

10. REAMER This maybe defined as a rotary cutting tools with one ore more cutting elements used for enlarging the size of a previously drilled hole.

11. SCREWDRIVERS These are instruments designed to drive in and take out screws.

12. SOLDERING GUN This tool is used in joining two or more electronic components and terminals, and in connecting wire ion PCB.

13. SOLDERING IRON This tool used in joining two or more electronic components and terminals, and in connecting wires on PCB.

14. SOLDERING IRON STAND This is a tool usually made of metal used to support a heated soldering iron when not in use.

15. SOLID-STATE VOM This is the transistorized version of the Vacuum Tube Volt-Meter (VTVM).

16. TRANSISTOR TESTER This is a instrument used to test transistor leakage, and an open short terminals.
