Batch Levels Definitions Plant Level that the batch is unique to a plant and material but not Batch level at the plant level is the SAP default . This means applicable across the company. Therefore, a batch of material at a different plant within the company could have the same batch number with different characteristics. When transferring batch material from one plant to another, the batch information is not transferred, and the batch information needs to be re-entered at the receiving plant. Material Level Batch level at the material level means that the batch number is unique to a material across all plants. Therefore, if a batch of material is transferred to another plant, the batch information will be adopted in the new plant without re-entering the batch information because that batch number could not have been duplicated for that material in the receiving plant Client Level If the batch level is configured at the client level, then the batch number can only be assigned once throughout the whole client. One batch number will exist for one batch regardless of material or location. There is no issue when batches are moved from plant to plant because the batch number would not exist in the receiving plant. This is a level where, in some countries, batch numbers are unique to a company and not to a material

Plant Level If the batch level is set to "Plant/Material" (plant-dependent batch requirement) in your system, the following applies: There is a unique connection between the batch number and the material and plant The batch number can be reassigned for each permitted material with a different specification in each plant. However, you can transfer a stock from one plant to another and from one material to another between batches with the same number, even though the batches do not necessarily have the same specification. In such cases, the batch quantity transferred assumes the specification of the destination batch. If you want the batch specification to be unique across all plants, you can only achieve this through organizational measures. The system does not support this. In this case, you are recommended to switch to a higher batch level.

Plant Level :Class type 022

Material Level If you have defined the material level as the batch level in the system, the following applies: There is a unique connection between the batch number and the material A batch has the same specification for all plants in which a material is stored. The same batch number can be reassigned with a different specification to different materials

Material Level class type 023

Client Level If the batch level is set to "Client" in the system: The batch number is unique at client level. The same batch number can only be assigned once within the entire client. It is uniquely assigned to only one material number.

Client Level :Class type 023
