Verb?
A verb is a part of speech that expresses an action or a state of being. Without verbs,
sentences would be incomplete and nonsensical. Verbs help us communicate what we
do, how we do it, and when we do it. Let’s explore some key aspects of verbs in English.

Types of verb
1. Linking verbs
2. Auxilary verbs
3. Action verbs
4. Helping verbs
5. Modal verbs
6. Transitive verbs
7. Intransitive verbs
8. Regular verbs
9. Irregular verbs

Linking verb
Ex.1)- "The sky is blue." In this
sentence, "is" links the subject
"sky" to the predicate
adjective "blue."
Ex.2)- "She feels happy." Here,
"feels" links the subject "she" to the
predicate adjective "happy."
Explanation:

Linking verbs connect a subject to a word that
describes or renames the subject. This word can
be an adjective (like "blue" or "happy") or a noun
(like "teacher" or "doctor"). They don't show
action; they simply establish a relationship
between the subject and the word describing it.

Auxiliary verb
Example 1:

- Sentence: I am eating breakfast.
- Auxiliary Verb: am
- Main Verb: eating
- Explanation: The auxiliary verb am
helps the main verb eating to form
the present continuous tense.
- Common auxiliary verbs include be, have, do,
will, shall, can, could, may, might, must, should,
would.
Example 2:

- Sentence: She has been working
on this project for weeks.
- Auxiliary Verb: has
- Main Verb: working

Action verb
Action verbs are words that describe an
action or activity.
Example 1:
The athlete ran a marathon
in under three hours.
Example 2:
The author wrote a captivating
novel about a young woman's
journey to find her true self.
