4. Overwork and intense studies caused lung
weakness to young Lust. He took
treatment from father Kneipp of Kneipp’s
water cure and regained his physical and
mental health back
He became one of the loved disciples of
Father Kneipp. Learnt everything about
the Kneipp’s water cure treatments.
In 1892,Father Kneipp was sent to
America to spread the Kneipp’s water
cure. He started practicing Kneipp's water
cure in America with the help of some
German Americans.

5. He was not limited to his outlooks only, so
he roamed around to learn more about all
drugless systems of healing.
After the death of Father Kneipp on June
17th 1897, he was not bound with the
name of Kneipp’s water cure so he started
giving a new name to all drugless systems
of healing as NATUROPATHY, due to
which we remember him today.
He was sent to jail /court for as many as
32 times for practicing a healing system,
which was not recognized by the
traditional medicine.

Osteopathic College, New York.
1913: Eclectic medical degree from
American Eclectic college,
1914: MD in Florida.
Honorary degree from every naturopathic
and chiropractic college.
Honorary member of all Naturopathic
Societies/ associations in all countries.

7. A physician in New York called Dr. John
Scheel coined the word naturopathy in
1895.
Dr. Benedict Lust bought the rights of this
word in 1898.
