This presentation has focused on PGPR can be found in the rhizosphere. They live in association with roots and stimulate the plant growth and/or reduce the incidence of plant disease. Among the numerous PGP bacteria and fungi described up to now, the bacteria Azospirillum, Bacillus, and Pseudomonas, and the fungus Glomus are the genera more frequently mentioned on research reports. The important role that PGPR play in agriculture can be clearly deduced from the extensive research published until now.

Conclusions and perspective This presentation has focused on PGPR can be found in the rhizosphere . They live in association with roots and stimulate the plant growth and/or reduce the incidence of plant disease. Among the numerous PGP bacteria and fungi described up to now, the bacteria Azospirillum , Bacillus , and Pseudomonas, and the fungus Glomus are the genera more frequently mentioned on research reports. The important role that PGPR play in agriculture can be clearly deduced from the extensive research published until now.
