2. INTRODUCTION Bharat Sevak Samaj is a development organization (agency) sponsored by the Planning Commission of the Government of India. It was established by the Planning Commission in 1951 to get public cooperation, on 12 August 1952 as per the recommendations of the National Advisory Committee. founder and first president was mr.pandit jawahar lal nehru and co-founder chairman was mr.gulzari lal nanda established by the mr.gopal krishan gokhale in 1905

3. OBJECTIVE To find and develop avenues of voluntary service for the citizens of India: To promote national sufficiency and to build up the economic strength of the country.   To promote national sufficiency and to build up the community and to mitigate the privations and hardships of less favoured sections

4. To draw out the available unused time, energy and other resources of the people and direct them into fields of social and economic activity. To take all steps which are necessary for the fulfillment of the aforesaid objects. the bss was has been concieved of as non-political and non official national platform for constructive work

5.  REACHING UNREACHED. SKILL BASED TRAINING FOR ALL WITHOUT ANY BARRIERS.   EDUCATION FOR ANY ONE, ANY TIME, ANY WHERE. TRAINING TO ALL THROUGH ALL POSSIBLE MODES.

6. Membership Every person who is 18 years old can be a member, who can voluntarily give at least two hours a week for service work. Those who have devoted their entire time to the tendencies of the organization, they are called its life members. Such voluntary organizations which are engaged in informational or social welfare work can be its members. Any such person, who is an ordinary member of the society and gives selfless support to the society's tendencies or financially, can be its subsidiary member. One restriction regarding membership is that a person who believes in violence or uses society in the personal or political sphere cannot be a member of this organization.

7. Organization The servants of India can be such members as are elected by the ordinary members according to a certain arrangement. The work of determining the policy of the society is done by the Bharat Sevak Sabha . One-third of its members are nominated by the Bharat Sevak Sangh , one-third by the Chairman in addition to the members of the Bharat Sevak Sangh . The members of the Bharat Sevak Sangh are elected by the servants of India. The meeting of this union is held once in a year.

8. The day-to-day affairs of the society are conducted by the central head board. It consists of nine members, out of which two members are nominated by the trustees of the society. Similarly, under the central organization, there is an organization of branches in the state, state, district, block, city, village and locality. . Its main objective is to get public cooperation in the comprehensive programs of public welfare. Two training camps, one in Delhi and one in Trivandrum are being run by this department for the training of active workers of all departments of the society all over the country. Training of Bharat Sevak Dal is also done under this department

Work area: Training of workers for public service, work related to public awareness and social welfare, improvement of slums, family planning, etc., come under the scope of this organization The scope of public work begins after the process of public awareness is completed It is organize courses electrical and electronics school courses specialiased courses like- bussiness,media,fashion,aviation,etc . solar courses FUNCTION

In the work of public awareness, organizing seminars, operation of planning information centers , publicity of the scheme through bulletins, brochures and small booklets and organizing scheme-publicity-weeks etc Operation of night shelters, suburban improvement programs and women-child-welfare programs come under the scope of social welfare. The task of stopping the rise in prices of essential commodities in the civil sector has also now come under its purview. In the area of ​​improvement of slums, cleanliness-cleanliness-campaign, apart from education of civil rules, literacy classes and women's crafts classes are also run etc .
