CONCLUSION BY ARSLAN GHAZI
FUTURE PROSPECT AND POTENTIAL CHANGES IN BHUTAN'S POLITICAL LANDSCAPE Bhutan prioritizes Gross National Happiness (GNH) over Gross Domestic Product (GDP) It focuses on things such as mental well-being, health education, time usage and cultural diversity Emphasizes well-being of the citizens through 1. Feasible improvement 2. Natural preservation 3. Social conservation 4. Good administration
Bhutan focuses on keeping up its conventional Buddhist culture 1. Well-preserved religious communities 2. Vibrant festivals 3. Architecture of the Houses (Dzongs) Bhutan has good natural environment and has versatile natural life, which attracts tourists Bhutan focuses on environmental preservation as it is compulsory that minimum 60% of the area should remain forested Bhutan is one of the few countries, which is carbon negative The government provides free health care to all the citizens
POLITICAL LANDSCAPE AND ITS IMPACT ON FUTURE The government and various NGOs have conducted various seminars to inform people about their political rights Which has resulted positively, as turnout was approximately 66%(2018) and 70% (2023-24 parliamentary elections) Public engagement has increased due to " Zomdues "(community gatherings), which tends to engage people in political procedure
Potential changes in administration and the rise of new political parties can impact future approach of Bhutan A new party named Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) is now emerging which acquired 2nd most number of seats in the latest election People's Democratic Party (PDP) is currently in power Bhutanese Government can focus on improving relationship with their Neighbours India and China Which would improve Bhutan's economy as well. In order to excel, Bhutan's govt should embrace imaginative approach to the rising challenges i.e social, financial and natural challenges Which would ultimately guarantee advancement in Bhutan THANK YOU
